So... Um... Now what?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 5:16 am

I have mastered all twenty shouts. I have a collection of more than 40 dragon bones and 40 scales. Apart from getting the decent amount of gold that dragons carry (for what, I do not know...) and just to get rid of the annoyance, why bother anymore? The gold thing really isn't even an issue for me. I am playing on the XBOX, so I have actually accumulated my $130,000 gold legitimately.

The dragons are the big "thing" in this game. Once you've mastered all of the shouts, they really no longer serve a purpose other than preventing the player from fast traveling at the most inopportune times. :stare: What am I missing?

An awful lot of quests? The fun of starting out with a new character, playing an new and differnet way?

I think he's referring to dragons, specifically.

Of course they have gold. Haven't you read The Hobbit? Spend your coin on training. That makes it go pretty quick.

This is the first time that I have played an Elder Scrolls game on a console and I find myself getting really burned out. I've done nearly everything. I have all of the achievements, all of the major quests completed, am level 59, own several houses, have enough gold and loot to be set for life, found and cleared almost all of the locations, etc., etc. At this point on the PC version I would start downloading mods and start fiddling with the console.

I need to build a gaming computer... I just figured that there would be some continuing reason for the dragons, but sadly, no.

Actually, once you get to a high enough level, finding trainers becomes much more difficult. Once you get to about $100,000 gold, it is REALLY difficult to get rid of!

So...are you suggesting Bethesda take out all the non-essential stuff in the game since Dragons, for you at this point, are non-essential? I mean, what point are all those mountains we have to climb to get to things. Why not make the whole world flat?

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that to remove something just because it's not relevant to your quest anymore would be a little weird, wouldn't it? How do you justify that in the story line? Dragons are so afraid of you they all bailed from Skyrim?

I'm not asking for anything to be removed! I think the dragons are amazing. I want a reason for their existence to be added. If you think about it, apart from the story, the reason they are here is to provide souls for shouts. Once you've mastered all of the shouts, you continue to collect dragon souls, but for what? I cannot enchant weapons and armor with them. I can collect and sell the bones and scales, but I am already past the point in the game where money matters.

Basically, at this point, they are reduced to bears, saber cats and other wildlife. At least you can out run the other wildlife.

You could work on your Smithing skill, get it up to 100 (not hard to do) .... and then use some of those Dragon Scales and Bones to make yourself some Dragon Armor. Best Armor in the game.

I made a set for myself, then another for Uthgerd, my Follower.

Put your game's difficulty up, if it's not already high. Try facing an Ancient Dragon on Master Difficulty .... there's a challenge

A guy on another forum claimed to take all his excess gold and do the following:

- Dropped it and watched NPC's fight to the death over it.
- Made a literal golden road from Whiterun to Riverwood.

Is it possible to make a pile of stuff you don't need, stacking it on top of each other until you get a huge pile? You could pick a small room in your house and see just how full you can get it of crap you don't need. lol

The gold-flow in this game is insane.... Current toon I'm playing is level 27, not doing MQ (altstart batch file generated). She's sitting on 97k gold - BEFORE she sells the stuff from the DB Sanctuary. I remember being level 27 in Morrowind, and WISHING I had 100 gold for something or other....
