I've been seeing all these updates, some of which end up failing or breaking other things, like backwards dragons, and considering I haven't come across any of those and I'm on PC, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm supposed to manually download this stuff, or if Steam does it automatically. Because, if it is manually, I can't find where to download it anywhere.

Steam auto updates as long as it's in online mode.

As far as I know you can't even opt to not download the patches as soon as you go online in Steam. The "disable automatic updates" option is broken.

And there's no way to manually download the patches legitimately. The only way is through Steam.

Strange. Because all these things people complained about seeing in the new patches, I didn't see. So, I thought that maybe I didn't get patched.

Then again, I play a little less frequently these days. Slowed down due to work after the first week or so.
