Open Letter to Obsidian : Thank you for allowing us to be in

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:11 am

Thought I would start a letter so the community can express their appreciation for the opportunity
to be in on the Fallout : New Vegas open beta. Thus far I have to say I haven't been a bit dissappointed
in most respects. Obsidian has managed to maintain the same level of quality seen in previous
games such as Neverwinter Nights 2, KOTOR 2 and Alpha Protocol.

As of right now I think I speak for all of us in saying thanks for making us, the community, part of the
Obsidian team!

This is a very short letter. It's perfect for my attention span.

Wait. What?

Words cannot describe how honored I feel for being part of this team. Does this mean I get another game when it releases?

Im going to agree with OP. There is NO EXCUSE for Obsidian releasing the game with the horrendous bugs that were there. They were working on this engine for two years and they still send it out buggy? Thanks for giving a giant middle finger to all your paying customers who can barely play the game due to bugs.

I was just thinking how nice it would be to wake up and have Obsidian say "Thanks to all for the beta testing, We'll send you a new copy when the final release is ready."

Thats what happens when a game becomes too commercialized, the devs feel they can kick back and make the game as crap as possible (in terms of quality) because they know people will always buy from them. Just look at Call of duty lol

Thats why I have refused to buy a COD game since COD4. I refuse to give my money to @ss hole developers who think they can svck money from us for a broken game. I really wish that I could return my copy of FNV. As much fun as it is, Obsidian seems to not really care that they released a game that is essentially broken.

Are buggy game releases that surprising any more? This thread pops up in every game that has come out in the past few years. Guess what. Game are going to get released early. It seems to be the common practice now. It svcks, but nothing we can do about it. Until everyone stops buying games, I doubt it will change.

I understand bugs. I understand the occasional black and white boxes that pop in the game. Those dont make the game nearly unplayable. I have problems with bugs that are as widespread and as limiting as the NPC bug.

Obsidian should follow Rockstars example and make the first DLC free to everyone, and, even though it may be 360 only at first, it will eventually make its way
around to everyone ( * I HOPE*).

If you wish to have help with your problems or to report your problems in a way that would be helpful to others or to Obsidian an Bethesda in identifying and patching glitches, bugs or crashes, please feel free to post a thread about it. These sorts of "I've come to rant and be sarcastic" does not assist yourself nor others.

There are plenty of threads open for you to have a bit of a rant over in the Fallout:NV general section. This section is for reporting, helping and seeking assistance.
