Let us write journals!

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 1:26 am

Here is one thing I would love to have implemented in the game, Journals. I want to be able to write a journal in-game, explaining everything that happened. I would be able to write about anything in it, from a story to anything I want. This would be amazing for roleplaying purposes. There is a catch though, in order to write a journal, you need to buy a blank book from a merchant, or you can craft one from a few pieces of Parchment (Parchment can be found anywhere in the game). And in order to actually WRITE in the journal once you get it, you will need coal. You don't have to write in the journal if you don't want to though. I got this idea from a quest in the thieves guild, which I wont spoil right now. But anyway I would love to have this implemented in the game, for everyone here thats wants to roleplay.

EDIT: When I was writing this, I did not take the xbox and PS3 versions into account, I was only thinking about the PC

Really? So this wal-mart journal would work in game like the OP suggests?

I must see this for myself.

----Anyway, this idea does seem interesting. Would be cool, and i have thought about this myself while reading books. Which i do read...Alot.

Poohunter, there's a mod to add writeable journals into Oblivion. I have no idea if the author intends to offer that in Skyrim, but you might try searching the Oblivion mod forum for "journal" in the title, and sending a private message to the author. Best of luck. It's a great feature Skyrim really needs.

You just made my day. Haha. To OP: on Xbox? It would take forever unless you plugged a keyboard in to the console

Cheers
