Hardware mouse support please

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:03 am

Hello all;
This needs to be mandatory in every PC Game. Please give us the option to enable hardware cursor/mouse. Any veteran PC gamer can tell its a software cursor. To summarize when a cursor is enabled via software the movement is related to your FPS. Horrible for PC gaming. You may notice in your menus the cursor is moving faster but still a little sluggish as well. Also when your game lags in any way your cursor speed slows down. All of this would go away if we got a little checkbox we could click to enable hardware mouse acceleration. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the love of the holy lord of gaming, yes.... this needs done. I HATE the cursor response in the game. It is just terrible. It's alright when actually playing (except for if your cursor happens to slow down) but any time you have to use the actual cursor it is like trying to poke a fly's eyes out with a chopstick.

The saddest part of this though is that FO3 had the same crappy problem and you would expect them to have heard it over and over from FO3 and done something about it. And do they even play their own games? I mean come on. There is no way they would have let something like that slide if they actually played the game. It's just silly that the problem is still there.

I wonder how things like this get by as well. With the amount of money involved in the gaming industry I wish there was a entity that could somewhat regulate games...I am not sure how, but basically make it so that we stop getting games that need so much work done to them. This industry is ripping people off, and getting very very rich. I think the finger for that situation is maybe pointing more towards the publishers however (cough ea). I can not think of a single PC game that I have purchased over the past 3 years that was not riddled with bugs and problems. Not even bugs sometimes just horrible ideas, or the best is when they dont put enough work into something and try to pawn it off as innovative(cough ffxiv). It is as if the standard has lowered and since there is no entity looking out for the gamer these company's can do whatever they want and if we were to even try complaining formally we would be shunned because..."its lol video games u nerd" is one of the many the response's we would get.

Funny thing is this game is 100% frame rate dependent much less the mouse cursor... everything from animations to movement speed is reliant on your fps.

Has anybody figured out how to get this fix to work yet?

"The mouse acceleration in menus is too fast
Edit the following into the controls section of fallout_default.ini:

fForegroundMouseAccelBase=0
fForegroundMouseAccelTop=0
fForegroundMouseBase=0
fForegroundMouseMult=0"

I have to edit anything in 3 ini's to get it to stick, falloutprefs.ini in both My Documents and steam/appdata/######/falloutprefs.ini, also in fallout_default.ini in the Steam NV mainfolder....quite annoying

You'd think this would be a no brainer in 2010.

Ya that still isn't working for me. The changes made in My Documents/My Games/falloutNV/falloutprefs.ini are reverting once i launch the game, even when I set the file to read only. PC's are not consoles, why is there even mouse acceleration to begin with?
