I'm in Forelhost refectory trying to get the priest mask. I'm standing in front of one of those spiked gates that retracts when you find the lever/ring, but I cant find it anywhere, so cant get past this gate! Can anyone help?

Truly wish I was that lucky! Been wandering around with a torch, candlelight, mage light, you name, and still can't find the stupid lever. It has to be there. I seem to recall I found it once before with another character, something about a lever on the floor behind a bookshelf. Still can't find. Sigh. Sure would appreciate a hint.
