Dark Brotherhood Assassin

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 7:15 am

Heya,

thought i'd share my experience with my weapon- and armorless playstyle. I always wanted to try a mage, And the Dark Brotherhood robes look pretty awesome. I also like to murder a lot of people in the game, so that fits the theme nicely.

Out in the open, i nuke around, often from quite a distance. Laying waste to a bandit camp from a hilltop is quite the entertainment.

For situations where a lightshow is not done, I reverse-pickpocket nasty concoctions. It's less flashy, but in no way less satisfying. Heh, Ingun Black-Biar would probably agree. Stealing the enemy's weapons and armor is a nifty trick too.

Works a treat. Focus on Destruction, Conjuration, Alteration, Enchanting, Alchemy, Pickpocket and Sneak.

Too bad there is no "clean" Dark Brotherhood outfit to enchant :(

I guess I will have to train combat skills eventually to get perks, but I'm level 42 now and haven't swung a sword or fired an arrow yet.

What do you think?

There is one actually. It's called "Worn Shrouded Armor" etc. It looks exactly the same as the DB outfit, only not enchanted. It's laying around in the Sanctuary near Falkreath, not sure if there is one in Dawnstar.

That all depends on what you as a player are capable of. I personally use Archery and Daggers for my assassin character, but then I prefer arrows to fireballs when it comes to bringing silent death. Also the 30× damage while attacking undetected with a dagger is truly fun, some may say OP (if there is such a thing in a Single player game) but enjoy one shotting Draugr Deathlords.

The huge bonus to sneak attacks with daggers, if you take that perk makes perfect sense to me. If you get that close to someone
without them noticing, it doesn't take a chop-suey master to do critical damage to someone with a knife, any thug can figure out
where to stab someone at that close an interval and kill them.

I find ice spike to be more enjoyable with quiet casting perk then arrows. Sure an arrow sticks out of the body, but it just doesn't
have the same wow factor as a big pointy ice cycle sticking out of the middle of their face and the back of their head to really
get that, DAMN They aRe REAl DEAD reaction.

I already have a level 71 dualwield light armor stealth archer. And granted, that's a lot of fun too, but different.

Stealth/Sneak Archer w/ Daedric Bow Of The Inferno w/ Daedric Arrows = Bliss

However, when I feel like getting up close and personal I'll switch to dual-weild daggers, Daedric and Blade Of Woe.

Well, the point of the build was NOT to use weapons or armor. I have tried out a bow, and yeah, poisons are evil. I still prefer to just poison people directly though . Or use Fireball, the direct oposite when it comes to subtlety. Detect Life , open door, spam Fireball. Eversince I got the stagger buff from.... no spoilers, the leader of the Greybeards, a dual cast Fireball renders any opponent helpless.

That doesn't mean that the other two elements aren't equally usefull, I just like to turn the scene into an inferno.
