Help I can't kill this vampire?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 3:04 am

I was walking around in the snowy region and I came across a random named vampire encounter. I was wondering why none of my attacks was working until I found out it was absorbing health from shadowmere. We all know shadowmere has insane health regeneration so it's making the vampire invincible. I try to get on shadowmere but every time I do this vampire keeps spamming expert level destruction spells and kills me before I can ride away. Even my dremora lord isn't doing any damage because of the health absorb thing. Also, I've maxed out illusion but this vampire is too strong for my spells so really don't know what to do. Anyway to kill it?

Try lowering your difficulty all the way down and just go to town on him? If it isn't allowing you to proceed your game save, I suppose.

I would say that he'd run out of mana, but I think vampires have unlimited Absorb Health.

Do what Virtuosus said.

If it's still too hard, and you're on PC, you could use the console to kill him.

If you are on PC, just use console to kill him (or temporarily disable Shadowmere). Otherwise lower the difficulty. If all else fails run like a girl or load a previous save.

Yeah I could but that would be my last option because the game shouldn't make me lower the difficulty because of something like this. I saved in the middle of the fight so I'm stuck here. If nobody has any good suggestions I'll lower the difficulty then.Edit: Playing on Xbox and I don't want to run becuause this vampire has a name and good armor. It has to be quest related.

Sometimes you just end up fighting stuff far too early than when you're meant to I suppose. Especially if it's a Master Vampire or something along those lines, since those can be a PITA. So at least you won't feel *too* bad about lowering the difficulty if you have to.

Yeah that's true but I figured I can take it since I'm level 32. I'lll just lower the difficulty since nothing else seems to work. Thanks guys. btw, It was a Volkihor Vampire, I don't know if that's above a master one but i never seen a master use the spells this one used.
