Weight issues for companion

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 9:46 am

I started using a house carl as a companion and gave them better armor and weapons. They can't carry anything for me however. When I tried to remove the original steel armor (using the console commands) my character ends up with the extra weight in my inventory even if I sell or drop the steel armor. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Build your stamina to max out your carry capacity. From what I understand your companion holds as much weight as you do, but I may be wrong. It seems right because I've been using Delphine for ever now and haven't had too much trouble. *edit*She seems to carry more and more as I level.* I just keep adding more stuff to her until neither of us can hold any more, make the long trip back to the house, drop what I'll keep then build up and sell what I won't. Get back to bare essential gear, then repeat. I don't use a PC though, so I have no console commands. Taking their armor may have gliched and you might have to reload to get the weight off.

I just posted a thread about this. Sigh. It's always hard to know exactly what words to use in a search. Can you be a little more specific about the remove items commands you posted? I 'm a bit nervous about screwing up my game, or my housecarl. Using the console commands is kinda new to me. Which items do those numbers refer to? How often do I have to do this? And how do I know how many of each he is carrying?

I used the setclass command to bring him up to my character's level, as I've been using Argis as a companion for a while. This didn't have any effect on his encumbrance issues, though.

If you could provide specific instructions, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

Thanks Ncknck that worked just fine. I had used removeallitems so just equipped new clothes more fitting for a house carl. Encumberance no longer an issue. I was making the situation for too complicated.

LOL Somehow the thread title made me think of the dovahkiin locking all the cheese wheels away to put Argis the Bulwark on a diet.

And Lydia with her bread fetish. No more carbs for you, housecarl.
