Fortify block mechanics?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 8:00 am

Hi there,

Im using a shield and I have 100 blocking, 100 heavy armor and I am at the armor rating cap. Now I want to get as little physical dmg as possible.. since I want to be the biggest tank possible..
Ive tried looking in google and on these forums but I havent found a clear answer.. how do block mechanics work..? Which result in a few question:

For example I know the max dmg reduction is 80% from armor rating.. How much is the maximum amount you can block? %? and how much % do you block standard without any enchants?

So when you have blocking at 100, how much effect do 2 enchants of fortify block really have?

is there a blocking cap?

the enchant fortify block reads: Block % more damage with your shield. More % based on what? for example if i block 2 dmg with me shield the % increase would be [censored].. but if I block 100 dmg with my shield... SO how do you know how much you block?

I hope im making any sense.. and hope someone has the answer!

I'll bump this. I've not been able to find any decent info on the subject, either.

Blocking acts as Absorb for Physical damage. The most damage you can absorb is 40%. So after armor calculations, you would negate 40% more damage.
