I have a problem with quest items I already picked up before even getting the quest to retrieve that item. For example, Rjorn's drum. I picked the drum up before I even knew about the quest. So now I just got the quest and I have it in my 'quests' screen when I press start. I select 'I have found the drum' line when talking to the quest giver and he says w.e you found it! sorta thing. But yet the quest item still stays with me and does not disappear and also the quest does not become completed. Can someone please help me out? Much thanks!!

Same thing here. I have found different quest items, before I got the quest. And they will not complete. I have even done some quest when I got it and it still won't complete it. But I have heard that the quest items that do not disappear do not weight anything in your inventory. Wish I could help more. Sorry.

The bard's quest items are bugged. Only way currently to remove them after you complete the quest is through the console (PC only).

After removing the item from the inventory can you do the quest? I hear the reward is worth it. If not will it soon be fixed? Wondering if I should just do a few other qests waiting for the Pantea's flute quest fix so I can give it to her and receive the reward.
