Armor for a king?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 5:04 am

So I started another character, I'm roleplaying as a Nord who was taken from his home as a small child, and raised on another continent, where he became a king. He was returning to Skyrim to seek out his father's helm, and got caught crossing the border. There's a lot more to it than that, but it would most likely bore you all. Anyway, my question is, what armor should he wear? I know I'll have some type of crown on his head, but I'm looking for a good set of armor to go with it. I was thinking glass, or ancient nord, but I'm not entirely sure. I'll have to know soon, so that I can either go into heavy or light armor, so please be quick with your replies. :)

Go Dwarven. With the right perks it can reach the armour cap and it looks fit for a king because of the gold colour etc. As for a crown knock yourself out with that. As for a weapon, again up to you.

If you're on a pc, use console to give yourself Jarl clothes and maybe go god mode. If not, Ebony Armour looks rather regal.

On the Stormcloak missions, you could get to the point where you gain the Jagged Crown, and not return it to Ulfric, then you could get your smith up to 100 and wear Dragonplate armour, the two go toghether perfectly, makes for a 'King Of The Dragons' look.

I think the bear skin robes and stuff that the Nord Jarels and their peeps wear is the most bad ass kingly gear in the game.

I hope I can get some. Don't care about the armor rating, I'm all offence.

Yeah keep the Jagged Crown. That's definitely kingswear. Shield of Ysgramor/Wuuthrad are probably the most ancient nordic artifacts you can get. Helm of Yngol also looks pretty good.

Dwarf armor. Fit for a solar exalt god-king.

Yeah keep the Jagged Crown.

Bethesda why was this not an option. I want to conquer skyrim for myself.

You can get Noble Clothes (the stuff the Jarl's wear) from the East Empire Company Warehouse at the Solitude Docks. You'll have to do some sneaking and stealing, though. Two sets of it, along with some other unique clothing, are on a shelf near the boats, just past a barrel filled with iron weapons.

Well, a Nordic king would probably use some high quality equipment, but at the same time have it be nordic so maybe Steel Plate as your combat gear and you can get a pretty cool set of clothes(with pelted shoulders and everything) by doing a very short mini-quest for Taarie in Solitude you can use for non-combat wear(just remember to buy some shoes as well).
As for a crown, I only know of the Jagged Crown, but the jarls use circlets so I ould recomend to use one of them. I believe the Silver Saphire Circlet will look best with the armor and the Dold Emerald Circlet with the clothes.

I was going to use a circlet, in my opinion the jagged crown is too much like a helmet instead of a crown.

I'd go something in Heavy Armor coupled with the Jagged Crown for combat. Then I'd use Jarl's clothes and a circlet for non-combat wear.

I would go with Dwarven. It may not be the best, but pair it with a gold circlet and it looks very regal.
