Who had a hard time moving...

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 11:37 am

I put this here because of spoilers.

Who else had a hard time moving out of whiterun, if you did at all?

I joined the Stormcloaks, and i was stationed at breezehome in whiterun just to keep an eye on the imperial scum. Once we took over whiterun, my duties there were filled and i wanted to move closer to my High King, Ulfric. Me and my wife, Aela the Huntress, packed up and moved into Hjerim. I was very sad to leave whiterun. i grew fond of the citizens, and the blacksmith was right next door (not to mention she was smokin hot).

I guess in every mans journey comes sacrifice. I will miss the small little shack called breezehome. I will miss the oh so convenient Alchemy Satchel. I will miss you, random junk chest near my bed. (still cant believe Hjerim has no chests in it at all).

Off to start anew in Windhelm, with my nord people (and those damn elves in the grey quarters).

Farewell Whiterun, Farewell.

I like it. the only thing that bugs me is that its deep in town (not right near the gate) and there are zero chests in the whole house. ive been storing valuables in apple sacks and barrels. Pretty crummy for such a high class home. lso the lack of an alchemy satchel (or any storage in the alchemy lab) is annoying.

If you fast travel, fast travel to the palace of the kings an NOT to windhelm. this puts you a lot closer to Hjerim so you dont hsve to walk all the way through town

I have probably played over 250 hours (across several characters) and still haven't purchased any house but Breezehome. >_>

apart from the inherent lack of chests, best house in the game.

I found it hard to move, but only because I wanted to strore all my precious dragon parts in my safe in solitude, they overload you REDICULOUSLY fast, I had to make 4 trips.

There is a chest by the bed but other then that there is no chests. I've used it since lvl 17. Still loving it at level 60! Make sure to purchase the clean up.

EDIT: also fast travlel to the palace. Alot quicker walk then from the main gates.

Whiterun is the most convenient location with merchants right at your door step. I have the mod which lets me melt swords into ingots so proximity to the smelter is of great importance to me.

No, I tend to move around a lot, so this would be no problem for me

Yeah must be. Oddly enough, my breezehome had no chest.

I wasn't sad, as my first home was in Markarth anyway. The whiterun house looked way too small and dumpy from the outside for my taste.

Whiterun is boring. I lived there a while on my Companions character, but it gets old fast.

I like Whiterun okay, but it's not my first choice (well, none of the cities are any more, since real player-house mods are now available - I prefer living WAY out....) Really there's no reason to pick any house in a city. Fast travel makes whatever's not available where you live pretty easy to get to.

four trips? Man u guys are doing it the hard way. Just take everything u own, no matter how heavy, and get on your horse then ride to your new place. That way you only make one trip.

it takes longer to ride across the map than it does to fast travel 4 times.

Not a fan of Hjerim but that's probably because 1) there's blood and a torn up corpse still there and 2) I don't like Windhelm. It's a dump.

My favorite house is Vindral (sp?) Hall in Markarth but in terms of trading, it's the worst. Honeyside is the best for trading but I don't like the house. It's a studio apartment with a basemant. But I always end up basing out of Prousdpire. It has everything; especially once you get through the Thieves guild quest where the lizard eventually becomes a fence you can sell anything to.

Breezehome would be perfect if it came with an enchanting table; but it doesn't.

You realize you can fast travel over encumbered if you're on a horse, right?

Well whiterun is the central location in skyrim. It is convienient and easy to access.Like u need to go to solitude from riften. Stop by Whiterun to have a drink etc etc. I bought all the other houses but i left them collecting dust becuz breezehome is in located in the town that i frequently visit. Besides, the jarl is one of the people i know best, not like some milk drink jarl in falkreath cough cough

The hardest move for me was Whiterun to Markarth. I put it off for ages but it finally won me over but it never felt the same, so I moved to Windhelm after I killed Ulfric and everyone HATES ME!! I go to the Blacksmith and everytime they berate me and I feel like beheading them both. I'm very close to just moving back to Whiterun things where so much simpler.
