My Spellsword Experience

Hey I haven't posted here in awhile since I got rid of my xbox and bought a PS3 and on recently have I bought Skyrim again. The delay was mostly due to the lag issues that I was worried about and I heard that 1.4 fixed most of it. I haven't experienced any issues yet.

So I re-rolled a favorite of mine which was a Altmer Spellsword playthrough on expert. I did this before but never wrote about it. It is a very difficult build to play with, as I did not/do not use armor. I currently have Thalmor Robes(No Hood)/Boots/Gloves along with Gold Diamond Necklace/Ring and Gold/Emerald Circlet. All have been double enchanted to reduce destruction cost and increase 1H damage. I have a Daedric Sword with Absorb Health/Fire Damage on it.

Now that the background is done with I have ALOT of fun with this character. I light things up with my fireball/bolt from afar and spam it to oblivion and when they get close they are on fire so my fire enchant does even more damage. However it only takes 2-3 hits to kill me.

My main problem is with Destruction, to kill any of the tough creatures/NPC's out there I literally have to hit them with 20-30 fireballs to get them down to 25% before I can go in with the sword. Damage scaling must be addressed because this is kind of ruining the game for me. I leave it on expert because its more fun that way, but as I progress my character is only getting weaker which is ruining the immersive factor of my gameplay.

All in all, I would recommend this style of play as its SUPER fun. I also use conjuration on tough fights to bring up a Dremora Lord and have Mjoll as my follower.

I know this post is kind of pointless...just a suggestion on a gameplay style and I think my character is super cool looking too. And a little bit of complaining as far as destruction goes ;-)

Im a spellsword as well, but I focus slightly on blocking, and I settle with light armor, usually DB, ThievesGuild, or the imperial/stormcloak they give u in civil war until I can obtain the DB, or TG armor. It is difficult to play with just robes, but I walked a few dungeons in robes, get used to oak flesh, wards, and summong creatures to fight for you. Obtaining a follower, AND buying a dog, accompanied with a summoning spell, you should be able to manage no armor.

I play the same character, more or less, with my Breton. Most the time I go pure magic, but I love to summon a mystic sword, slow time and go in and tear everyone up as well.

All enchantment slots go to getting more magicka. Level 37 with 210 health and 600+ magic.
