Is it me or it is suppose to be this fake?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 4:08 am

After completing "Under New Management", Dragonborn is suppose to be the Guild Leader right?

Well, apart from Delvin showing some respect calling me boss.. the rest are still treating me like a newcomer or bambino...

I think this doesnt not feels right.. and it doesnt make sense. Of course, they dont have to talk to me as if i own them but treating me without respect seems fake... Bestheda, any explaination on why and how come?

Guards say 'What do you do at Jorrvaskr? Fetch the mead?' when I'm Harbinger, I could be a Nightingale and Vekel the Man says 'Brynjolf's new protege, eh?' (so does Vex :\) people insist I'm in the college when I did 'Fear' to get past the gates, because I wanted to get an Illusion trainer, the list goes on.

Vex always calls me Guild Master, though Vekel still behaves like I'm a newcomer.
Also, after I became the Archmage of the College, I visited Dragonsreach and bumped into Farengar. He suggested me to join the College of Winterhold, "if I've got the aptitude". News must travel really slow to Whiterun. Been ages since I've finished the MQ and the guards still criticize me for

But you are the newcomer. Name one person who's joined the TG after you? At least in the DB you get new recruits.

There is so much wrong in this game it's not even funny. Even without the glitches and bugs.

That's what happens when a release date is more important than the game itself.

Just imagine how great this game could be if everything worked right.

I don't know about your game, but there are at least 2 new guys that came into the guild after I did.
Once you finish the Thieves Guild quests you are not the newest member anymore.

New recruits, Ravyn and Garthar join after completing your third and fourth special quest.

There are a few bugs concerning the end of the TG questline. Karliah and Brynjolf should react differently than they do... and Karliah should be in a refurbished Nightingale Hall. Stupid bugs.

Yeah, it svcks. Karliah goes back to the place where you kill Mercer for some reason instead of Nightingale Hall. And The hall is still a dump.

Brynjolf is always to busy to talk to you now too.

Plus you can't get into the vault in the cistern anymore. you'd think being the Guild Master that you'd have a key to get in there.

I don't think the Thieves Guild quests ever got finished personally.

They were nothing but thugs and bullies before you came, and they are nothing but thugs and bullies after you take over. I was wanting to make them a lot more respecable, like in Morrowind and Oblivion. I also thought that after I took over I would be able to make some changes and dictate how they would start acting and what kind of jobs they would take. I thought I could remove the influence of a certain woman that seems to really be in control of the guild and the city. Well as it turned out nothing changed

(except my eternal soul now belongs to someone else)
.

In the end I have to agree that the Lioness was right and I really wished I could have undone everything that made this worthless pack of bullies more powerful.

Unless I am intentually playing a character that is evil (or just stupid) I leave the guild alone now.

right.. the list goes on.. it is not right.. the game play is superb.. the combat / crafting systems are even better than the so called goty mmorpgs.. out there.. but wth??? why are the fundamental stuff all wrong? ;/
as a consumer i dont think it is wrong for us to expect... for a fan.. it is furthermore unacceptable ...
The RPG feel is all wrong.. do something about it..this aint bug.. to think this is goty.. omg.
The article mentioned by ign is right.. Skyrim is not as good as it seems once you played long enough...

The game starts out so great too.
Thats what really dissapoints me, that after the first few hours it just.. fizzles out.
If I were a terrible cynic I would call this the Vilverin syndrome.
Meaning: make sure the first hour or so of a game is great, because that is what the critics will see.
The rest? not so important.

If Im slightly less cynical I would say the game should not have been released before 11/11/12 because it is just an unfinished mess of shoddy dialogue, arrows to follow instead of a storyline, cardboard NPC's and an awful levelling system.

In a way they've gotten a lot right, and the stuff they have gotten wrong is minor, but annoying. There are glitched quests (though I have been lucky) and then there's the verbal dialog of companions and NPCs which, however cute it sounds at first, wears on you like t. We need an option to check like "NPCs shut up after they have talked to you once" applied to passing conversation, not actually clicking on them.

I wish they had spent more time updating dialogue to reflect changes in the world and less time writing insults to the player.

Yes, it would have been better if they had added switches to those lines of dialogue, and turned them off when you are guildleader. Even if they just replaced them with a generic "Hello" or something it would have been better than something which is mismatched.

Could be worse, I kept getting anoyed remarks by my housekarl in Solitude like 'are you lost?' when I entered my own f-ing house.

precisely... a simple hello makes more senses than what is happening now right? the more i play the more i am getting annoyed.. RPG games suppose to feel real.. this is like nitendo era type of rpg..even zelda is better.

Ooops. Sorry, forgot that I never got past the flame things in the first room in the "Blindsighted" quest. I got told I was going to be made guildmaster --that was about 3 characters back on my part--and spaced that I hadn't actually finished the questline.

Yes you're very much correct.

I choose to gamefly pretty much every game, I only buy games I plan on sinking a ton of hours in to and know I'll go back to play again later. TES games are supposed to fit that, OB definitely did as I still play it, but I regret buying Skyrim because it doesn't hold up for me like previous TES games. The game just feels so incomplete I mean I've beta tested games that performed with less problems and were better balanced.

Vekel the man has the lines to greet the player as the master of the thieves guild (something like: "Guildmaster, eh? Who would have though that?") but for some bug they're active when the final mission is active. After that, he will revert using the same old lines
