So what exactly is Dragonborn

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 9:18 am

So our Skyrim main character (possibly a female Argonian ;) ) is Dragonborn
But what exactly does that mean, how does it happen.
We know that the Emperors of Tamriel used to be dragonborn up until Martin Septim. But there was a more or less clear bloodline since Tiber Septim

And furthermore reading the lost Prophecy of the Nerevarine in Morrowind it states, that he is
"But Dragon-born and far-star-marked,"

So if the nerevarine or Martin Septim had found a wordwall in skyrim, would they have been able to learn the language?

Or are we talking about different ways of being dragon born?

Martin was dragon-blood (of the septim dynasty) and not essentially a dragonborn. His power came from the breaking of the pact with Akatosh. The nerevarine may have been actually dragon-born, but there is no evidence to evince this statement.

So what is dragon born (I am not looking for something like a pregnancy test here  but the mythological explanation)?

So there is a difference between dragonborn and of the dragon blood (.. Septim mostly)?

Try taking this thread to the Lore Section of the forum, the amount of stuff they know is unbelieveable.
