Pinned topic with best mods?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 11:07 am

Does anybody else think there should be a pinned topic with a list of the best mods? Obviously what mods are the best is subjective, but there would be a poll to decide what the majority thinks. I think this would be a great addition to these forums. Call it "Recommended Mods". I see so many people come on here and ask what mods are the best, i'm actually surprised something like this hasn't been added yet. You could always go to Nexus or the Worshop and look at the top mods, but those are usually clogged up with armor sets and castles and such. Not that these mods are bad, but I am (and I think alot of people are too) looking for big gameplay and visual mods. Just an idea.

No. It's all subjective.

This isn't the sort of thing the admin would pin.

Once something is pinned it becomes semi-official. Now Bethesda is happy to feature mods on the blog, but a semi-official list of recommended mods is going much further.

Just an idea, guess not a great one but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case.

It's a fine idea. Problems are a plenty though is subjectivity, misrepresentations by mod authors and fans, lists that don't get updated in forever yet people continue to insist on linking to them as the be all to end all of all lists, and many others.

There will be people that post lists in any case, eventually there will be a list of lists, and I may even continue cataloging "any mods" topics like I did for Oblivion. What I'd really like to see is a list that expands on "tags" like Nexus has so people can get quick, honest representations of what popular mods do and what the contain/entail... without having to search through hundreds of pages of comments and dozens of drama filled topics about supposed issues or content a mod may or may not have..

try skyrimnexus.com or skyrim.nexusmods.com, they lead u to the same sight. It's where most people upload their mods. It has lists, including the top 5 mods currently on the home page. For more in depth you can click top 100 or just click the "files" tab on the top, then click on what type of mod you're looking for.
