It's a fine idea. Problems are a plenty though is subjectivity, misrepresentations by mod authors and fans, lists that don't get updated in forever yet people continue to insist on linking to them as the be all to end all of all lists, and many others.
There will be people that post lists in any case, eventually there will be a list of lists, and I may even continue cataloging "any mods" topics like I did for Oblivion. What I'd really like to see is a list that expands on "tags" like Nexus has so people can get quick, honest representations of what popular mods do and what the contain/entail... without having to search through hundreds of pages of comments and dozens of drama filled topics about supposed issues or content a mod may or may not have..
