The scenic route

Out of all the places to be in Skyrim, which place makes you just stop and look around just to look around? I find myself wandering around Blackreach from time to time. Something euphoric about the place that just makes me enjoy it.

black reach, any forest type dungeon usually blows me away eldergleam sanctuary, shadow green cavern, and a few dwemer ruins have been pretty sick, labrynthian was a great one as well. Best part is, I still have over 100 places to discover, maybe more.

Anywhere on a mountain, looking down at a bunch of waterfalls descending in stair-steps to the river valley below....

I agree with Serethil. I frequently ride the horse along the ridge of a mountain just to look.

But my favorite places are two:

The little patches of sunlight in caves that has a little forest eco-system growing.

And the hidden waterfall valleys where you are surrounded by mountains on 2 or 3 side and everything is green and tree-ey and there is a waterfall. I think to myself "Here. Here is where I would build my cabin."

Yup. I WANT to build my own place, but I'm not good with stuff like the CK.... for right now, I have a player-house mod that's nice.... but I have one of those valleys marked with the blue marker on a map, and then saved as a graphic.... for if I ever can figure out the CK. (Yes, I know there are tutorials, but videos aren't a good thing for me, I need written stuff, and the written ones on the wiki don't tell me what I need to know.... *sigh*)

They do such a good job with the "build your own weapons" portion. You mine the ore... you smelt into ingots... and so on.... I really get a kick out of building from scratch these kick butt magical weapons. For my first character who has pretty much done everything I care to do with him that is what he does in his "retirement" build weapons from scratch.

Anyway, I got sidetracked. They do such a good job with being able to build own weapons... I would like to see something similiar in Elder Scrolls VI where you build your own cabin from scratch. Cut the trees, mill the lumber, build the foundation.... and so forth. Maybe have to have a roof raising party where you get a 3 or 4 people who have been your followers (like the ppl that went to your wedding) and have to rais the roof. heheheh....

Its my idea of fun anyway.

Back to the thread... I totally love the waterfall valleys!

That's a REALLY COOL IDEA!

Back to the thread.... I also love the "ice-islands" in the far north. They're barren, true, but with the cold fog.... it's just a really neat place....

I just like dragon walls for some reason. Very cool. Especcially if you sneak up on it to see the dragon just sleeping on it. And just sit there for a while.

By far Sovngarde. I wish it was bigger and there was more to explore. Another is when there is a forest inside a dungeon, especially the one that is part of 'ill met by moonlight'. Finally I'd have to say that little place you go when doing the mission for Sam and get the rose staff.

Those are my top three but still nothing will ever be more beautiful when the sky is different colors. This is why I love Sovnarde so much.

I loved The Reach. The Birch trees, autumnal colors, streams, waterfalls...I would gladly live there in real life.

Moss Mother Cavern has been my favourite so far, it's so pretty and green, with the nicest looking cave interior I've yet to come across. But I've plenty to explore yet.
