Leader of the Thieves Guild

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 10:12 am

Uhhh..okay. So now what? Do I get any benefit to being the leader of the Thieves Guild, or is it just Brynjolf recognizes me as such? I hope I get some benefit, otherwise thats a pretty anticlimactic ending to a cool quest line....

For example, why is Delvin still giving me jobs and paying me a cut of the proceeds? Shouldn't I be doing that and giving HIM a cut of the proceeds? I mean, wtf...

This makes as much sense as when a follower follows me into a tight room, and then refuses to move out of the doorway so I can leave, and I have to shout her out of the way with unrelenting force.

You get an amulet that serves as the ONLY amulet which gives you armor and makes all speech challenges automatically succeed, plus you get access to the Guild Loot chest which has LOTS of valuable items, like 3 flawless diamons and 3000 gold at one time.

P.S. Did you do the 4 extra side missions since you need to do those to ACTUALLY become GM

You also get the Guild Master's armour, a better version of the conventional Thieves Guild armour.

What are the 4 extra side missions? I've done probably 10 each of the "jobs" for Vex and Delvin. I might have but can't recall right now.

When do you get this? I never got any Guild Masters armor. Thanks.

The 4 "extra side missions" are called "Special Jobs". They expand the influence of the TG into Markarth, Solitude, Whiterun, and Windhelm. You have to complete 5 jobs in each of those cities and then Delvin will offer you the "Special Job" (quest) for that city.

The 5 jobs can be for either Vex or Delvin or any combination thereof (ie 2 for her & 3 for him, 4 for her & 1 for him, etc), but you must do 5 in each city. You can drop those jobs if you don't like the mark or location and pick up a new one - no penalty other than a failed quest in your log.

After you do the Special Jobs Change in Management will start - the quest that makes you Guildmaster.

Interesting, didn't know that. So are the "special jobs" a specific selection, or do the regular jobs you do eventually just become special jobs? Because i've never seen any special jobs quests.

AFAIK the regular jobs are always available (random and sometimes repeating), but the Special Jobs are once in each of those 4 cities and you'll know - I think Delvin even refers to them as "Special" jobs. :P

I'm pretty sure that will count as an "Assault" in your Stats if you care. :P

Yeah definitely, if you do it to one of your housecarls or something that is following you. I did it to a follower who was part of a quest (i didn't have a choice that they were following me), and it didn't count as assault.

Interesting. I got a follower in a quest to go 'red dot' on me because I accidentally struck her too many times - I never knew that was possible. :P

I'll have to try the Unrelenting Force shout on a mandatory follower to see what happens. ...after I save, of course. :o
