OMG I almost died today... : V

So I finally reached Level 50 today after playing off and on for 5 weeks, and I was feeling pretty good about myself. I was using the Skyrim guide to go back and clean up some of the places I hadn't discovered.

One mistake I made was not choosing one of the 3 Guardian Stones at the very start to level up better. So I decided I was going to create a new character. Because I played more two handed than one handed, I chose the Orc race.

I get through all the initial stuff, get down to Riverwood, and went to craft the iron dagger (that puny side quest) and my game locked up.

When I restarted my PS3 and my Skyrim game, much to my horror, my Level 50 save game was GONE. I don't know if the game autosaved over it (before it locked up) or if I accidentally saved over it (I thought I was sure I hadn't).

Either way, lesson learned: I'll have no less than 5 save games from now on. I hadn't had something this horrible happened since I lost 24+ hours on FFIV back in the day LOL

I have 8 save files. And I store my saves on the PS+ Cloud.

That svcks man, this is why i keep backup copies of my saves. That has never happened to me, probably because i play on pc.

Well I am on PC and think I have 382 saves so far. I was trying to minimize that number but I had a similiar incident where I saved over my main, so now I just hit new save and scroll when I want to find different characters.

I have 6 save files, and I back them up on a flashdrive also, can never be too careful

That svcks, I accidentally deleted every single X-Box 360 save game I ever had in one fell swoop, including Skyrim (level 38, 95+ hours, Main Quest completed), and Oblivion (level 37, 110+ hours, Main Quest completed)

I have 789 seprate save files for my character xD

That does svck,sorry to hear.I play on PC and the very last thing I do before shutting the PC down for the night is making a copy of my last save of the day in a seperate folder on my expansion drive,or sometimes on a thumb drive just to be extra sure.

I've got nearly 400 saves myself.
