Tips for new Illusionists

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 6:02 am

Hi all,

I only have one character, he's level 42 Xbox 360. I'm not really role playing or anything like that. He's just kind of a mix of everything (1&2hand/archery/sneak/alchemy/lockpick/heavy armor) I am now going to invest in some kind of spell tree and I decided to go with Illusion.

I wanted to hear from some Illusionist masters out there on their experience on what might be the best perks to invest in for future bad ass illusion spells for a primarily warrior / rogue class.

Any tips would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Frenzy is also a good spell, just cast into a group on enemies and watch the fun.

EDIT: at your level you'll need Mayhem.

Yeah, I can't wait to be at a level high enough to throw that spell in the mix. I know everyone has their favorite tree for spells but Illusion, to me, looks highly under rated.

I love Illusion magic, that with sneak and archery is amazing.

if you want to focus on illusion, i suggest you to NOT do the mainquest at all.

calm, etc. doesn't work on dragons and some little archery doesn't help either.

i played a illusion + sneak character, but had to stop at about lvl 25, because even with invisiblity i couldn't sneakattack dragons with my dagger.

Yeah, I haven't done much of the main quest yet really, I was waiting for some bugs to get fixed before proceeding any further.

My back-stabbing Assassin is starting to use less blades and more Illusion now. Using Fury at the moment, will be needing Frenzy and the higher level spells after that eventually.

Ok, thanks for all the replies. I have one more question, is Dual Casting worth putting a point in?

if you plan on sneaking, muffle will silence your movement, so use that whenever you need to sneak around some place

I would say most definitely as combined the duel wield spells effect higher level creatures.

Yeah most definitely, I just started doing this soon after I made this post. It makes sneaking in heavy armor much easier.

I'm going to go as far into Illusion as I can, it seems like that tree is great to put points in but I'm wondering if I'll need to put one in dual casting or is it even worth it?
