Battle of Karthspire spoilers

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 6:03 pm

I must say that in my opinion the Battle of Karthspire (as I have come to call it) is the climix of the game. I have that section saved and now after three characters and over 250 hours I still go back just to refight that battle.

Its practically Tolkeinien in scale.

Dovahkiin
follower (for me its Jenessa)
Daphne
Esbern
My Horse who always wants to go Rambo in this fight
collectively make up "the heroes"

The Heroes
vr.
Foresworn (one of whom is kick butt wizard)
vr.
Hargraven
vr.
Blood Dragon

It just doesn't get any better than this.

EDIT: Oh, and sometimes that Rift guard from the nearby mine shows up... with a great one liner. After fighting the dragon side by side with me we kick the dragon butt and then kick some foresworn butt... I'm wanting to high five him be buddies and he says to me, "keep your hands to yourself sneak thief."

Yeah that was a pretty epic fight, although it losses its immersion after you walk out of that place and have to kill all those forsworn again

Heh. The ONLY toon I've ever gone there with.... there were TWO dragons.... and elder and a blood.... Yeah, you could call it epic. You could also call it more tension and adrenaline than I ever want in something I play for fun.

It was tension and adrenaline for sure. For me I was in loving it!

Its so crazy with people running here or there I shoot my follower about 50% of the time because we get seperated very early in the fight.

I don't even know how it happens one time I was shooting at a dragon, another person was shooting at a dragon, I could see the arrows wizzing by next to me but didn't know who it was... the dragon dies. I turn and its the foresworn with the big deer helmet on. There is like a dramatic pause and then we start shooting each other.

I've probably re-played that mission 20 times. I can't get enough of it. And no matter how many times I play it, at some point that Hargraven is going to come after me. She ignores the dragon, she ignores the follower. She zones in on me, every time.

The foresworn ice mage chick by the forge... always a tough kill. I was fighting her and Delphine came up and said "She's mine!" or something like that.

I was taken aback... you go, girl!

Two dragons! That would be insane! Oh... fun story. I came up by the bridge one time... got into a fight with the dragon on the bridge. Esbern got stuck because he has identified slaughterfish in the river as enemy and wouldn't move forward because he was trying to kill the slaughterfish with fireballs!

i added some dwarven centurion master using consoles to make it even more fun. So its 2 dragons, hagravens, several centurions and those damned forsworns VS me, delphine, esbern, follower, meekos the dog, my horse, Demora from the Sanguine rose, Spectral assassin,

Which is why I have "forsworn" off followers.... Spare me.... I don't need that sort of help, thankyouverymuch.

you just gave me an idea. I wonder if I can get my follower to wear that stupid deer antler helmet... then I can recognize them better in battle!

Well, yeah - as long as it's not against Forsworn!

By Sithis, that was the BEST BATTLE EVER. To say it was the climix in a story perspective, it's not true but in a test of epic, nothing else in the Main Quest beats it...unless you're fighting it out with Level 80 Alduin with a mod that adds three Dragon Priests.

On my current (and forever permanent) character that I'm eight hours in, I don't plan on doing the Main Quest for quite some time but the amount of epic I saw on my previous character was unrivaled. There was crap flying everywhere, I was dodging arrows and fireballs left and right, and cast two Storm Thrall summon spells to even out the battle.
