You know those people that just start talking to you? Conversations that take you out of combat and other action for a while and force you to listen to the character? I think those are stupid. Let me give you two examples.

#1 I'm wandering around Eastmarch, and hear a dragon in the area. An elder dragon swoops down and I start the fight. Then, a hunter walks up to me, forces me into a conversation, and I can't fight during that time. I finish the conversation, I'm dead. What?

#2 In order to get into an Orc Stronghold I have to collect a certain item for the Orc's chief. I do as I'm told, and return with the item. A guard tells me to see the chief ASAP. I walk into his house, and start a conversation with me (a forced one, again). He says how he appreciates what I've done and all, but as the conversation goes on, another Orc in the room starts telling me that ''I'm not supposed to be in here''. In the middle of a conversation with the chief of the stronghold, I get attacked by three Orcs for standing in a building. How is that even possible? I mean, I was having a perfectly sane conversation with the chief, right?

Anyone else experienced encounters like this that ended in a dumb situation or in your death? Go ahead and share

Haha, yeah I've had these.
One that I really found funny some days ago was that I attacked to Giants at level 4 outside of Whiterun. I ran around, fireing some Flames and swinging my claymore. After about 10 or so reloads, I run to the Western Watchtower and use the fact that the Giants can't get into the tower while I can.

In the end, I finally kill them both off. Feeling pleased with myself, I loot them and prepare to leave. Suddenly, a man approaches me, wanting me to give him money.
I smash his face in with 2 hits.

Stupid thief watched me kill two Giants, so much for AI.

Seconded. In the misc quest where you have to negotiate a wheel fix for a guy whose cart has broken down (EPIC SPOLIERZ OMG), I only found the cart in the middle of the night. I managed to convince him... but while I was speaking to him his wife got out of bed and started ranting. By the end of the conversation, she'd drawn her dagger and started disembowelling me... promptly joined by the husband I'd just spoken to. A speedy getaway was thus made.
