Rebels or Imperials - how similar are the quest lines

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 5:00 am

I've got two charecters - a nord and an imperial

the Imperial has recovered something from [Kovulandrer] and the Nord had the same quest

are the two quest lines similar throughout. in which case I'll just do one version* or are they sufficiently different to do twice

* btw sometimes I do quests lots of times but only of they are particularly good ones. I love the azuara star quest for example but fighting a civil war doesn't do much for me.

there pretty much the same as far as the gameplay is concerned (that is to say rather disappointing), so really it depends on who you personally like more, the stormcloaks or the empire.

Almost completely the same.

There is barely any difference between them. Even their two ''theme songs'', The Age of Oppression and The Age of Aggression are essentially the same, with some altered lyrics.

The dialog is slightly different between the main characters (Galmar Stone-fist/Ullfric, Rikke/Tullius). Stormcloak dialog is kind of off the deep end fanaticism and Imperial dialog is more professional and businesslike.

VERY similar. Practicallly identical. Both have a fort with their own people captured (needing to be freed), both have a "sneak in and open the gate, we'll take it from there", both have nearly unlimited opponents to defeat before the forts are considered taken - and the bodies all vanish quickly if you don't loot them immediately after each kill (supposedly to keep from dragging down frame rates), both have a caravan of gold and weapons to be captured (so as to put a serious crimp in the opponents) that actually consists of petty change and a few swords. Heh, they both even use the "capture a courier in order to get orders in order to forge fake orders" - and both times, the courier ended up getting killed by something other than me because he runs SO darned fast.

Almost completely identical questlines. Disappointing if you ask me. I can't help but feel like the variety in this game is lacking.

You fight Bandits, Spellcasters, Draugr (Oh so many Draugr!), Forsworn if your lucky (they are fun to deal with), and occasionally Dragons. Where is the variety?!
