Inheritance?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 8:19 am

A courier approached me and gave me a letter in reference to an inheritance. Thinking the letter would explain more, I didn't pay as close attention as I probably should have, and I don't know if I was given anything else (e.g. money, etc.). When I read the letter, it was one line, and I think it said "For the Jarl." or something along those lines.

Anyone else get this? I didn't get a journal entry or a quest, so I'm wondering what gives... Thanks in advance for all the help,

Ah, good... Any idea what triggers this? It's cute, but I wish the letter had been... um, slightly more specific.

It happened very early on for me. I could state the obvious and say someone died and left you money but who and why I can't remember. Someone will know

I killed Faendal once. He attacked me because I killed some Imperials. He left me an inheritance.

It's a form letter. I had one from Silda the Silent for 100g, less 10g tax, due to her death from a dragon in Windhelm.

",

In the name of Jarl , it is with great regret that we inform you of 's death.

The deceased has bequeathed unto you a measure of inheritance in the amount of gold pieces.

The Jarl's court has levied an amount of gold pieces from the sum, as the lawfully and honorably due tax. The remainder has been commended unto the care of a trusted courier for deliverance.

While all of the Jarl's court grieves with you on this day, we rejoice in the knowledge that the deceased was in possession of dear friends and wealth to communicate unto them.

May this lawfully bestowed inheritance prove as a reminder of your enduring faith in one another, and of the Jarl's beneficence accorded unto you both."

Well, if it helps, here are some things I've done lately:
Defended Whiterun from the Stormcloaks
Defeated Potema

I've kicked off the MQ, but haven't gone to HH.

I've done other stuff, but those are the latest. Playing on PC, 1.4.

Dang, now I wish I was paying attention to how much money I received. Ah well, live and learn. Thanks again!

That's odd, I did not have all that text in place. Hmm, wonder if I glitched something somehow. One of my buddies probably bit the dust while defending Whiterun. I think I sold cabbages to a few people.
