I just created a new character and I'd like to play it like some kind of a samurai character.
I'd like to know where I could pick up a two handed katana sword without starting the main quest if it is possible.

The Ebony blade is the only one I know of.

Ebony Blade is affected by one-handed perks. Install mods?

To be fair, the dude never asked for a useful two-handed katana. Of which I don't think there are any

The only two-handed katana in the game is the Ebony blade, and it's bugged.

OK it's affected by one-handed perk's, as long as it actually kill's enemies, just perk up the one-handed tree. It's only a really bad thing if you want to change weapons later in the game.

I found some armor that say's heavy, but I plan to play as if it is light armor. Looks like it should be light armor.

If that's the "look" that Nickbsm is going for then, use what you can, how you can.

I thought Ebony Blade was one handed? Oh well. Anyway, if you do the main quest,

I was under the impression there was no other katana other than dragon bane which is already one handed.

As far as early.. Its a level 20 quest and you can't just pickpocket the key to the door inside dragon's reach if you are unable to even start the quest.

Also with the two handed perks not effecting ebony blade elemental fury does not effect it either..

The bug if it is to be called is awesome for a character who has alot of one handed weapon perks and wishes to use a two handed weapon!

There are three one-handed katanas that I know of. One is in the inn's basemant in Riverwood, where Delphine and your character talk secrets. You can get this one pretty early. The other two, Dragonbane and another regular sword, are at the Blades old sanctuary, during and after Alduin's Wall.

And the Ebony Blade is the only two-handed katana. However, I don't really know about what perks it uses.

Most definitely. Two different types of katanas, short and long, was neat-o.

Oh, for the days of Morrowind, where an easy (and non-journal) quest could net you a Daedric weapon at level 1. I usually went for the katana or bow.

Ebony blade is really usefull in long term combat, it has infinite uses!

it still raises two-handed skill, dispite bugs or noticibly lower dmg on the weapon.

I think overall its good for raising two-handed skill quickly with a lesser chance to die or potentially a good weapon if you have one-handed skill perks lol
