Where am I going when I die?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 9:43 am

Hircine, Nocturnal, Sithis, and Shor all have claims on my soul when I die. How is that going to work? Will I take turns working for each one? Will they divide up my essence? Last one to claim me gets dibs?

Maybe they'll all sit down and have a lottery, and then let the losers do some wheeling and dealing.

"I'll trade you my first and second picks from the next batch of souls, plus throw in a a few lesser souls, to get him."

"I'll match that plus throw in a few Eidar cheese wheels."

"Not interested. He's a bum."

And so forth.

You're going to the loading screen, which after some time you'll pop up somewhere alive again a few moments to a few hours in the past.

This most likely.

You'll go to the Hall of Scrolling Credits. Yes, I know this game doesn't ever do that. :P

Or you'll go to the Great Hall of Dead Is Dead FAIL, and then you'll be taking yet another cart ride to Helgen.

I've been thinking about this. Would they want Sonja in Sovengarde? I don't think so. Hircine? Possible. Akatosh? Well she is the Dragonborn, so there's going to be a tug of war. Nocturnal is probably pissed. Sithis? Probably wants her. So it might come down to how Sonja dies. I'm figuring she will not die a heroic death, but from doing something stupid like you know how eyesight fails as we get older? alchemy can get dangerous.

Oh, don't worry. I only used this most recent character to experience the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood questlines... I'm just about to create a new character, in fact, just to keep things fresh... Pondering magic, as I haven't given it a go yet, or I may just dig up an old save to play with... Decisions, decisions...

Hopefully Dragonborn has the power to choose. Not everyone wants to hang around Akatosh and stare at hour glasses for eternity.

They have a raffle, auction, or negotiation. The soul of a Dragonborn is quite valuable in the Soul Market you know.

Now that would be a sight to see Serethil. "How much for the soul of a slightly used Dovahkiin?" "250 septims" "Sold"

I would imagine yes, that the one of the Divines would get you over a Daedric Lord, could be wrong though.

But what about all the dragon souls you've absorbed? Do you count as one super-powerful soul... Or like 500 semi-powerful ones?

To the spirit in the sky

That's where you're gonna go when you die

When you die and they lay you to rest

You're gonna go to the place that's the best

In your last moments a lousy opportunist captures your soul in a gem and you'll live forever as an enchantment imprisoned in some lousy iron dagger later lost in a remote cave.

Not sure if what I am thinking of might be a potential spoiler for the future, however shouldn't you also have the decision to fight for where you want to go to? Say if you become Hircine, Nocturnal, Sithis, and Shor puppy dog, and you have a change of heart and the only place you truly want to be at is in Sovngarde, but the only way to prevent this from happening is from those names that I mention. Can't you fight for your freedom? By facing up with these characters and fight?

Their should be an option to pick which one you want to be in or fight for your freedom.
