Unexpected NPC deaths

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 9:21 am

Doing another play through the Companions quests and found something odd. I decided to hit the sack early in Jorrvaskr and went down to where the whelps sleep. Upon waking, I found Torvar just laying there, dead on the floor surrounded with goblets and a bottle or two of mead. Either he finally drank himself to death, or someone put a hit out on him.

Anyone else find odd NPC deaths like this? If it was intended to randomly occur, I say kudos on the puzzlement.

I was crossing the water from the 7000 steps village one time, only to find a corpse floating in the water without any clothes on. I didn't recognise the characters name, but I hope he wasn't important. Beyond me how he got there.

I didn't see the death, but the courier sent a message to me saying that a friend of mine died and she gave me inheritance.

I don't really know what's the cause... The beggar in Whiterun died as well and then suddenly the courier delivered me a letter of inheritance with 100 gold. What's funny is that he died near the canols of Whiterun, the one near the stairs going to the Gildergreen Tree and then I was wondering why the people are gathering and then I saw his dead body layin' in the canols. And also Severio Pelagia who died during the Civil War quests when the Stormcloaks are attacking Whiterun. Just so happened they set their camp near the Pelagia Farm and he fought then died. Then I received a letter of inheritance again because of his death.

People kill each other all the [censored] time in Riften. Usually unnamed thieves (As Guildmaster, I mourn their deaths) but sometimes citizens get caught in the crossfire. And the guards always think i was involved in the "incident."

Same thing happened to me with Pelagia. Rather thoughtful that the left his inheritance to me (I think I made over like 9,000 gold with all the cabbages and potatoes I sold him), but at first I thought maybe he died randomly or maybe he accidentally fell or something. Never occurred to me that the Stormcloaks might've attacked him while I was defending Whiterun.
