Which Lords can have dominion over your soul?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 10:51 pm

I always found it funny how the Dovahkiin can treat his soul very causually. There must be over a dozen Daedric Lords, Gods, and other supernatural beings all vieing for my soul after I die. I was just wondering, how many peices can you split your soul into and to whom? What questlines have you giving up your soul to someone.

I figure as Dragonborn Akatosh trumps the rest especially since the Daedric Princes are demi-gods at best, but maybe they can split our souls into Normal Soul Gems (yet undiscovered 'Grey' Soul Gems :P)?

It's not completely clear to me (haven't play Oblivion) how much we're indebted to the Daedric Princes from doing one quest for them. For instance: Sanguine (just kinda' partied - I've done worse on benders in RL ) and Sheogorath (kinda' helped a crazy person find peace - evil dictator maybe, though) don't really seem to own us and since we're usually doing favors for them they owe us instead of the other way around. Maybe TES IV makes this system more clear?

It's not clear to me either, and I am an oblivion player. Honestly, after every Daedric quest, they say you become their agent, which doesn't really mean anything in game terms because you never hear from them again. Honestly, Sanguine you just get drunk with, no long term commitment (if you know what I mean  ) But I do remember pledging my Soul to
Spoiler
Nocturnal, I'm also a werewolf, so I assume Hircine has some say in that matter. There were a couple of other instances of soul pledging, but I forget what they are

Yeah, that one and it's unclear about the other one if you do that thing. :P

I refuse to get that involved in any game's "deitical" stuff (yeah, I know it's not a word, I just made it up....) Since I actually only had one toon that was "dragonborn" - and since I long ago deleted her AND her savegame folder, I don't really care who thinks what about the souls of the rest of them.... if pixelated pretend people prancing through a game world even have souls - which I doubt.

There's a serious limit to my willingness to RP these days. That sort of depth is where I quit.

Oh gee, we have another one of thse types people again. Meh.

/facepalm. Yeah, the NPC's have souls. Kill Kodlak or Ullfric and you see them in Sovngarde. But hey, it's just game mechanics. Just play, hack and slash, delete and play Call of Duty.

Hmm. So it's okay for me to allow you your werewolf and vampire stuff, but it's not okay for you to allow me my own sort of play? Okay. Got it.

Eh, uh, what? I never said you couldn't go "casual" like some of the kids do these days. I was just saying.

Yep, you were just saying that my perception has no value. Regardless that I've been playing CRPGs since 1985, after a good ten years running tabletop games for my daughter and her friends.

So, you take your furryness fun and have a great time with it. And I'll take my "soulless" playstyle and do the same.

Have a WONDERFUL weekend.

You mean Werewolf&Vampire? Her name is right there, the least you can do is look at it

It's fine. It's over. It was just a random moment. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Am I right?
