So.. How do you kill your birds?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 7:22 am

Arrows?

I am having a blast hunting hawks atm.

Prob wasted about 20 of the last game hours on it...it's like a hidden mini-game. I've even added hunting down and shooting insects with the bow as well.

I'm not bored of Skyrim or anything...I just got side-tracked all to hell and back.

Is it just me or is this game so freaking easy to fall in love with.?

I go to the East Empire Company warehouse where they fly in large swarms and spam fireball in their general direction.

Arrows and ice spikes.

Mostly ice spikes, they're fast.

My first time using a bound bow with it's 100 arrows http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v43/unokitsune/HAWKPILE.jpg
This one didn't want to join the pile http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v43/unokitsune/frozeninair.jpg

Simply depict the hawk's fly path and aim a couple inches from it's face and shoot arrow. When done successfully you get this and lots of feathers and beaks! Magic is harder because it actually has to hit the bird on path. Arrows even without archery perks is better than magic with perks. And I'm a mage!

I use arrows. The hawks have huge hitboxes. I've had a couple instances where I've peppered one with arrows and it wouldn't die. The arrows almost never manage to touch its body; they appear to float because the hitbox is so big.

I'm kind of disappointed. I thought those were seagulls. What a letdown. So unrealistic.

But why?
I was so saddened when I accidentally killed a bunny. And to top it off, I didn't know until I checked my stat page. :(

But why?

Hawk Feathers have useful alchemy effects.

Wait a second... hmm...

Flying undead hawks filled with my loot!

I wonder if you could frenzy them and re-enact a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds"

You can do that with chickens. They're not exactly an awe-inspiring opponent.

We need 50 chickens and a Frenzy Rune.

Stood on the castle battlements at Solitude and waited for one to circle near me. One slash of the sword did it. They don't fight back.
