Blade's Character Roleplay

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 1:41 am

First of all, hi. I'm new to these forums and since I was a little lost on how to start this heavily roleplayed character I thought I would ask you guys for some suggestions.
Alright well I've gotten bored of playing as my other character's and since I love the Blades I decided I should make a Blades character. Not sure what race he would be but he would obviously be focused on one-handed weaponry. The next big challenge is roleplaying as a member of the Blades since the order is basically dead I would have to be on constant watch for Thalmor and hide from them. Now I could easily go find a nice cave somewhere and hide but where's the fun in that? So the question is what should be the goal of my character? To simply survive? To just keep running? Or maybe to have a personal war against the Thalmor. EIther way I want you guys to help me out on this one.

Oh and I will not be using fast travel and it will be set on the highest difficulty, for added realism.

It's up to you what your goal would be. The Blades themselves are seeking purpose too. Delphine thinks she's found it.. but you need not necessarily follow her. Maybe you have a different purpose.

If there's one thing left up for question, it's the Dragonborn. There is nothing in this game definitively telling you what your purpose truly is. Other than the past history of Dragonborn.

The one GOOD thing is that you wouldn't be trying to maneuver around an established questline etc. Since the Blades in Skyrim are pretty amorphous, you can write your own scenario. In fact, you know.... that would be a GREAT thing to really write as you do it - a fanfic of perhaps epic proportions!

Well I've never tried recording my character's actions or anything. I guess I could make some sort of journal or something and just keep updating it daily. I'll give it a try I guess. Now I'll get one to creating my character. Not sure what race since Blades can really be anyone from anywhere.

Yes, a journal system would be a good idea. It wouldn't need to be every day - just when something happens that's NOT "day to day" stuff! As for a race, if it were me, I'd probably go Nord.... just for the "feeling"....

You could roleplay him as a blades scout sent to spy on the thalmor during the war. You were discovered and attempted to escape to Cyrodil only to learn it had been invaded through the rumor mill. You then changed course for Skyrim where you were ambushed by the Imperials which led to your capture along with the other stormcloaks whom you had happened across. Being a scout/spy you have no official documentation proving who you are and thus are lumped in with the other captives, which would explain why you're about to get your head lopped off.

Then just go for there, should make for an interesting game. Good luck to you.

That's very good! Believable, and gives enough backstory to have some decent lead-offs.

I like your ideas Shep and I think I'll head in that direction. And yea I was thinking about a Nord character so he would have a reason to go back to Skyrim. Maybe he can search for his family giving a reason to venture all over Skyrim. Would take some imagination though.

If you didn't have imagination, you wouldn't have come up with this idea to begin with!
