I just got Skyrim too! Help ...

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 12:05 pm

I started a quest to get this guy from Riverwood (can't remember his name) the golden claw, he said it was stolen from him by bandits. Anyways, I kill and scavenge, get the claw and return to his store. I start dialogue with him but nothing comes up about 'hey, I got your golden claw' Take it! ... How on earth do I pass it along?

Could it be because I still have one more quest left to the location where I got the claw? Something about revealing the secret of the ??? I want to go back and complete it but would prefer to unload all my scavenged goodies. I am having difficulties with finding a store to buy my wares. Any help in these two matters would be greatly appreciated.

Complete the quest to be rid of the claw, the guy you are giving it to is a trader and soon you will find many more as you explore.

Go back and finish the quest. You need that claw. Think of it as a unique key......

Intersting I never backed out to go deliver the claw just continued on to the end of dungeon. Does he give an option about what he has to sell? It sounds like he might be bugged if he won't buy you can go to the blacksmith he will purchase any weapon or armor you have.

The game should have been figured for this. i was going to go straight back as well, but decided to explore further, so I was lucky. But it`s very illogical that the guy just ignores you when you have what he wants- he doesn`t know that in the scheme of things you`re supposed to use it for a bit. they should make him say something like, "Hey my friend, thankyou for the claw, but keep it a little longer because I heard it might be a key to treature for brave adventurers like you. That`s my reward to you. return it after."

Simple. This is what`s meant when people say about the game being incomplete or lazily finished.

I never considered taking it back before I finished exploring the ruin.

Most of the time it works best if you don't back out of a dungeon/ruin/whatever before you completely finish. Besides the possible loot/reward, usually there is a short cut out of the place once you're done. It beats backtracking through a large area.

I personally couldn't dream of not seeing everything there is to see in a particular dungeon before exiting, but I guess that comes from the days when games used to block access to a location after you were done with it.

Well there is a journal on the guy who stole the claw that explains what the claw might be used for. I suppose some aren't the curious type though so yah I can see your point. In all fairness though games take a ton of developmental energy and time, it is impossible to fit every scenario that someone might occur with different players.
