Invintory wieght glitch (on pc)

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 3:56 am

Ok so i got on to play some skyrim to day and i was cleaning out my characters invintory ( i wanted to get his wieght down to 0, i just do that every now and then) and when i got everything off it said i had 6 weight left, i took everything out of my inintory that they game would let me remove, so all that is left is quest items. It i counted and its not calculating the weight of the quest items either.

6 weight may not seem like much but i have not put ANYTHING into stamina

To find more info about your inventory weight issue, do this first.

player.getavinfo carryweight

Try that and see if you're being modified by some unknown object/effect. Assuming this is just a glitch and you want to change it back to what it should be, do this (when you are carrying no items):

player.setav inventoryweight 0

Check your "active effects" in your magic menu. You may have contracted a disease that effects stamina or carry weight. Skyrim just loves flinging around diseases.

Aside from that, it could just be a bugged item. Quest objects should be weightless, but on rare occasions glitch up and aren't. After the quest is over, the "quest object" tag is supposed to be removed, activating the weight but allowing you to drop the item; that sometimes glitches, too. Either way, you end up with an undroppable item weighing down your inventory.

This is a bug that started with Oblivion and ran through both Fallouts. You'd think someone would have fixed it by now.
