Dragonbane and other rares

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 5:40 am

My dearest Skyrim friends,

I've got a question. Dragonbane is a weapon that can be obtained without doing quest?

And which other rares that I can obtain without doing quest?

Many thanks and need you input.

With regards,
AJGC

Dragonbane cannot be obtained until the end of the MQ Alduin's Wall, since its location is quest-locked. You can add it via console if playing on PC, though. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Unique_Weapon_(Skyrim) is a list of uniques and their locations/quests. Some of them are dungeon loot but most/the best are quest rewards or obtainable only during quests.

It's in the temple that you can't access until the Alduin's Wall quest.

did anyone try jumping up the mountain and seeing if the backdoor is unlocked? The door that leads to the courtyard at the end of the temple, i don't remember it requiring a key to exit

If it is the one I am thinking of then there is a bar on the inside of the exit door, this can however be defeated with a bit of practise and messing about by trying to get the raise bar dialogue through the gap in the door.

Their's no bar's on the courtyard doors at Skyhaven temple. More than one set of door's though.

I know the road side of the mt looked pretty shear, don't remember if I looked off the other side.

I went and tried, the front enterance and walked the back, didn't really try very hard to climb to the back courtyard.

Try using a horse, sometimes it's easier to climb those hard climbs while mounted...i'll have to try for myself later because now i'm curious about getting in that way.
Fyi the dragonsbane is a leveled weapon, the higher your level is when 1st aquiring it, the higher the base damage will be. To my knowledge its the only leveled weapon in game

I might have to give that a try, the char I tried on already has the sword or actually Lydia has it, just to see if it works.

I just TCLed up there with a character who has not done the main quest. There is a force field around the entire mountaintop. You can't even stand there.

My friends,

Really thanks alot for the advise. Just now I went there also from Whiterun which is a long long walk, but cannot manage to climb the mountain. I think I have to do the main quests and level up before taking dragonsbane (thanks haggar).

By the way, I manage to take the rare lunar iron mace, but I noticed everytime I used it and hits, there is a bar that seems to be counting and it's draining off. I want to know if this bar wears off, then my lunar iron mace is useless already? Anyway to recharge the bar?

Thanks once again!

Strangely enough, if you go to the test room via console (type coc qasmoke in console to get there coc whiterun to get back out) that contains all of the items in the game, the Dragonsbane that you obtain there is fully leveled, regardless of what level you are at the time.

Where in the temple? I have yet to find a weapons room.

After you zone into the temple, go to the left of the big banquet table and there is a room with a table and a chest. Dragonsbane is laying on the table, and there is a full set of Blade's armor and shield in the chest.
