Role playing an Aragorn-like character

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 9:44 pm

My ideas so far:

Imperial Male
One-Handed (w/o shield) / Block / Alchemy / Sneak / Heavy Armor (When he became King of Gondor)

What I would like to know, how would you role play an Aragorn-like character? I'm thinking dwemer-ruins but I see no purpose in his passion for them ruins.

Two handed.
Archery.
Light Armor. (The armor he wore was mostly chainmail, and the briastplate slowed him down.)
Sneak.

I was so confused why "Argonian-like" entailed, and doubly confused why you'd then chose Imperial as your race. Clearly it is time for me to go to bed :)

I'd go with light armor over heavy. He may be proficient in both, but he seems more comfortable in the former.

Alchemy seems like an odd choice.

Athelas. Plus in the Return of the King he heals Eowyn.

Light Armor -w- some kind of hood
Archery
One Handed
Sneak
Alchemy
Maybe Restoration?

Have to eventually get an Elven Sword of Flames.

Spoiler
or Dawnbreaker.

Thank you for your kind contributions guys. With all that help I'm deciding on a:

Two-Handed (As one pointed out, he always holds his sword in both hands)
Alchemy (He has good knowledge on remedies, plants and whatnots)
Enchanting (I'm not entirely sure about this, but how else could I get Anduril and whatever his Circlet was called?)
Light/Heavy Armor (Dilemma, as Skyrim's light armor doesn't look right on Aragorn, and I feel he looks better with Steel Plate Armor without the helmet)
Block

Role playing style: Helping townsfolk, becoming Thane of Windhelm after leading the Stormcloaks to victory.

How does that sound now?

Two-handed, light armor, archery, sneak. Then maybe smithing? He's going to need an uber sword, after all.

My "Aragorn"-ish character:
2-Handed, specialized in greatswords.
Light Armor.
Alchemy, he does have a decent understanding of plants and the such in the books at least, sometimes even brewing healing potions.
Sneak. "I can avoid being seen if I wish, but to dissappear entirely, that is a rare gift".
Archery.

I would either make him an Imperial or a Nord.

Yeah, I have just refreshed my memory of the appearance of the light armor sets in the game and they don't really fit him. Only thing that comes close is the steel plate so heavy armor might be a better choice if you want him to look like Aragorn.
My suggestion on making Anduril: increase smiting so it have the legendary edge and enchant it with something simple that require little/no skill. The charge is only going to run out anyway.

Yea this seems correct, he does have knowledge of plants, even in the movie, in the fellowship of the ring.

Lol i just realised 2h weapons and sneak makes a bad combination:D

Just make a generic ranger-type character. Two-handed, marksman, light armor, sneak possibly alchemy and speech.

Do good things and wander the wilds, maybe stick to leather armor instead of fugly glass/elven stuff.

Stack up on torches an go Weathertop crazy. I think you can use torches to block and set enemies on fire.
