Quest markers for followers

well recently I was adventuring and then I found that I had lost my follower, well then I realized that my follower was farkas and that he had the quest for talk to companion leaders for work and I activated it and found that farkas was stuck in a dungeon where I had recently been. So I came up with an idea why not have quest markers for followers I mean it is an open world game and there are alot of bugs. what do you guys think?

That's actually not a bad idea, especially since a lot of the quests are currently bugged. Being able to find any NPC needed for quest interaction would be good.

This can already be done if you play on the PC via console commands. However, making it possible for all platforms, as well as making it easier to do would be good.

It wouldn't be the worst idea for Bethesda to implent the "companion(s) are tracked on the main map" feature that Obsidian patched into New Vegas. Very handy to have feature in that game given the similar pathfinding and AI issues between the two games.
