Hello! So, I was playing Skyrim a while back, and found some scrolls from some chests. One was a fireball scroll, so I figured I would use it on the nearby wall. I was thinking that it was a spell that you could learn and use whenever you wanted to, but when I tried to use it again, I couldn't- and the scroll for it was gone. Could someone explain if I can permenately use spells from scrolls like the conjure storm atronach and fireball? Thanks in advance!
scrolls are one time use only. disposable spells basically. only tomes 'teach' you the spell. scrolls are primarily for non magic users to be able to use high level spells.
Alright, thank you everyone! I thought so, but I just wanted to make sure. I'm starting to look into magic, so could anyone tell me the best place/person to buy spell tomes from?
Scrolls are single use spells, good for a warrior that does not use magic. They could be good for any character that does not use magic to supplement them.
You can buy spell tomes from most of the court wizards in the various holds, several of the mages at the college of winterhold and a few here and there at various stores like the riverwood trader. You can also find them in dungeons and whatnot.
You can buy spell tomes from some general goods stores, and from court wizards in several of the Jarl's palaces. If you join the College of Winterhold, they have the largest selection in the game.
