I know Season Unending is one of the most troublesome quests in the game, but I still want to know if there is a workaround of my problem. Right now I'm sided with the Imperials, and I'm up to the point where I have to return Balgruuf's Axe to him after showing it to Ulfric, in the Message to Whiterun quest. At the same time I have to talk to both Ulfric and Tullius in order for them to come up to High Hrothgar for a treaty, but both of them refuse to say anything on the treaty. Is there any way to work around this? Or will I have to complete the Civil War quests before doing Season Unending?

I'm playing on patch 1.4, so the newest update.

If i remember right you can't talk to them about it while a civil war quest is active in your journal, should be able to after turning one in without accepting another though. also season unending can't be done after the civil war at all. sorry if this wasn't very helpful

It was, thanks for posting. I think I'll have to finish Message to Whiterun, and then cancel the dialogue before the next quest initiates. Otherwise I'll just have to finish the Civil War, and look up the peace discussion in High Hrothgar on YouTube or something

if you finish the civil war quests before the MQ, you dont have to deal with the peace treaty at all.

Bump, I'm stuck on the same thing, The Jarl of Whiterun has no dialog option for the quest at all. Are there any commands that can move the quest line forward for "A Message to Whiterun"? Also, I'm pretty sure I don't have any other civil war quests going on. Getting insanely frustrated.

are you trying to deliver the axe? i need to know which part you are up to exactly.
