In Oblivion they were in an evidence chest, does this also happen in Skyrim?

On a side note, I have never really played a thief in a TES game before. WOW have I ever been missing out. It is like a whole new game!

I am pretty sure that there is an evidence chest in Skyrim. I try to stay out of jails the best I can.

A assume it would go in a chest in the jail if you got caught. I have never been caught.

Can anyone confirm?

I get caught pickpocketing a lot. I don;t like to reload because I think that is cheap. Instead of a Dead if Dead character, I play a Busted is Busted.

I don't know, as I've only been caught a few times and never successfully escaped from jail.

My guess is the guards split up your stolen goods amongst themselves. Corrupt bastards (except when they're corruption works in my favor, of course.)

So long as you don't get caught and put back in jail before you get to it, your loot will be there. If you get put back in jail then I think its lost forever.

the only time I have ecaped from a jail was in solitude and I was in the cell with the crumbling wall.
