So I've played a couple of characters, one up to level 28, that both use light armour. The starting off armour I like a lot, I like the imperial leather armour that my first character used, and the hide and fur that my current one uses.

Trouble is when you outgrow those and better armour is required all you've got is leather and elven. I don't really like the leather, and although the elven looks quite good it doesn't suit either of my characters. Scale's cool but you don't start seeing that until around level 25 or so I think. Glass I think is absolutely horrible.

So I'm wondering what are some cool light armours that would fill the gap. What are some of your folks favorites?

I'm curious about the wood elf on the load screen who seems to be wearing leather armour but without the pauldrons. Is that actually in the game? I also really like the armour Aela the Huntress of the Companions wears. I skimmed her Wiki entry (I haven't played that questline yet and I don't want to inadvertently spoil it for myself so I haven't read it fully) and it says it's ancient nord armour, which is heavy. But to me it looks like it would be light. Is it the ancient nord armour? If not and it's light armour can I get some?

I go from Leather straight to Dragonscale. Elven is too flimsy, Glass is too shiny(and too bulky), and Scaled is just [censored].

You might try some faction-specific armors - Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood.

Ancient Shrouded Armor is what I am wearing now, but looking forward to Dagonscale. The thieves guild armor looks cool as well.
