Hint to a possible DLC in Oblivion?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 4:02 pm

Has anyone ever went to Markarth Stables and talked to the guy who trains dogs Bonning and listened to what he said? This is what he said, "He'll follow you to Oblivion, if that's ever the case". From this being said it seems like Bethesda is giving us a hint to a possible DLC. Does anyone else think this could be a hint to a future DLC in Oblivion?

I took it as more of an explaination of how loyal/reliable the dog is, but I personally would be interested in visiting Oblivion realm again.

I think we could read into everything and anything as a possible hint to a DLC. I would say Iriodus has it right, it's just stating how loyal the dog is.

I don't think so. Like other posters, he was just stating how loyal the dog was. Maybe it was a small reference to the last game, but I doubt it is a hint of an upcoming DLC.

Personally I don't expect to see an oblivion expansion.. If I could remember in oblivion mages talked about people going to morrowind and helping out the dark elves.. and the two expansion packs were knights of the nine and summerset Isle.. I think we might see something simular or something like morrowind expansion pack Blood moon.. wouldn't rule it out but honestly who would want an expansion pack of a game you can buy for half the price?? just saying..

No, I dont think so. Him saying "He'll fallow you to oblivion, if thats what it comes to.", is the equivolent of a real life person saying " He's loyal, and will follow you to hell and back if need be".

Glad you think outside of the box, but I think this is just a saying, nothing more.

I think the real hints are the Imperial City and the gates to Morrowind

Why would you assume that to be a hint at DLC rather than a nod to the previous game? It boggles the mind...

I dont think a return to Oblivion is too likely. I mean, what's changed there? Though, technically speaking, "Oblivion" refers to all the realms of the Daedric Princes, not necessarily Mehrunes Dagon's. Visiting another Prince's realm might be intresting, but I never really got into Oblvion's (the game) MQ.

There already was a fan made complete overhaul to Oblivion, called Nehrim.

It's not an overhaul, it's a separate game on Oblivion's engine and what does it have to do with the OP anyway?

As for the dog, I wouldn't read too much into this. I take it as a way to stress the dog's loyalty, nothing more. Although it's possible that we'll visit another daedric realm, why not? Morrowind and Oblivion both had expansion packs featuring a Deadric Prince, so it's not far-fetched to expect something similar in Skyrim.

Considering what the guy in Markath feeds his dogs, I'm not sure if they follow you out of loyalty

That really doesn't hint at anything, just that the dog is loyal.

I think you meant Shivering Isles.

Oh, my bad, I misread the OP. I thought he meant future expansions for TES IV: Oblivion

Disregard.

i honestly feel that the coolest thing they could do is have us visit whats left of the infernal city from the novels.... that would be beyond cool as far as im concerned.

I think it would be cool if we could see the city of Bruma (in Cyrodil) from the top of the Throat of the World (even if we couldn't get to it.)
