bubbles ghost horse

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 11:32 pm

I ran into a ghostly looking horse names bubbles. I can even ride him and it doesn't say stolen.

Now I searched and saw no reference to this creature anywhere. I don't believe it's in Vanilla Skyrim, but all my mods are texture oriented and I never saw any indication of added content.

So where did Bubbles come from?

Nope...that was probably the headless horseman. This horse is named Bubbles and I found him riderless outside Darkwater Pass.

Funny thing ..when ridden he leaves a trail of ghostly bubbles. For the life of me I am at a loss for what mod could have added him.

Now whenever I fast travel, Bubbles shows up at my destination and starts walking back to where I originally found him(back exit of darkwater pass).
Even if is nowhere to be seen when I start the fast travel he pops up when I arrive.

Annoying. I have to figure out what mod started this nonsense.

I'll be honest, I read that 3 times and it made me crack up every time. Anyway, I just searched skyrim nexus and google and found nothing. Try unistalling mods individualy then seeing if bubbles goes away. When he goes away you'll know what mod caused it

There was a horse I stole once, from a Stormcloak camp IIRC, and I am experiencing the same thing with it. It is frequently at my fast travel destination. It is no longer marked "Steal" but if I ride it, and then dismount, it wanders away, just like a stolen horse would. It also walks away if I dont try to ride it.

EDIT: I have no mods installed.

I've never stolen a horse or ridden a found/non-purchased/non-earned horse, but the stolen and found horses behave the way you described Bubbles: shows up when you Fast Travel and then returns to it's location.

Sounds like a modder's practical joke.
Yeah, I'm betting it's a modder's version of an Easter Egg.

The Headless Horseman is a vanilla Easter Egg. He just leads you to various locations for you to discover. :P

Yup, this little easter egg was added by Realistic water and Terrain.

Kinda bummed about it as it is not the kind of mod I would have added. I might end up scratching that mod as all I add are textures.

Oh no there's an invisible horse that you can completely ignore and doesn't effect anything how could anyone ever call themselves a true TES fan if they have this mod installed!!!

huh?

Did not imply or state any such thing.
I might add all sorts of extra content in my next play thru. I am only adding textures this go round.

I do wish a mod titled Realistic Water and Terrain would only add textures. If I wanted Bubbles the horse I would look for a mod named Bubbles the horse. My fault for not keeping up with that particular mods info page.....earlier editions did not have the extra content added.

I have that mod, but haven't been back to that location in ages (not much call to be there, after all). I'll have to see Bubbles for myself. But I agree that if it has nothing to do with the purpose of the mod, then it shouldn't be there.

Yeah, I find that annoying as well with some mods. For instance, there's that one mod that says that it makes followers level with you. "Oh, right, and I also messed up with the female followers' faces and now they look wayyyy more [censored]tier than before" is the amazing side effect of that one. So... no thanks.

Thanks for the Heads up on this stuff.....I will also have to not Update to the new version....If i add a water mod..thats all i want it to do....I read some of the comments at both pages..I'll pass

How are we suppose to know a year from now, that some landscape bug with some chest sunk into the ground or some such, is because of a water mod? Or where bubbles comes from...sigh
