37 Stealth Archer wConjuration...need help!

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 3:45 am

Hey all, I am loving playing expert (not master but still challenging sometimes) with my wood elf stealth archer. He's rocking the full ancient shrouded armor set.

Here's my build so far at level 37 (skyrimcalculator(dot)com/#102506). Sorry they don't let me post links
Current Skill Levels:

100 Smithing
100 Speech
100 Sneak
81 Archery
80 Conjuration
50 Enchanting
37 Light Armor
35 One Handed

Most of the time i can just one to two shot sneak snipe enemies with my bound bow. It's pretty awesome. I know the bound bow is nowhere near as powerful as the some of the created ones but not having to worry about arrows is just plain awesome.

My question now is where do I invest in points? I leveled up smithing just in case and I can get enchanting up as well but I don't know what to do with it! Can I use smithing to upgrade my ancient armor set? seems like its just a minor bump in armor. So would love some archer smithing enchanting tips! =)

]Should I put more perk points into light armor? the tree seems pretty sweet. I really only die when I get lazy with dragons but always nice to have some more defense.

Any perks I'm missing?

Lastly, as I said, I usually just cruise through dungeons sneaking and sniping but sometimes I'll bring out the summonded Daedra to help smush or tank for me. Is that better than having two atronachs?

thanks all...appreciate the time!!

If you don't melee you probably don't need Light Armor perks. If you want to increase your stealth you might be better off going into Illusion instead of Conjuration...or both. :P As for Smithing: you can definitely put some more damage on bows if you get the perks or level Alchemy and Enchanting.

How the Alchemy and Enchanting will help most is by making Fortify Smithing potions and gear, but it takes a lot of work and/or money to level those.

I don't recall if you can improve the Ancient Armor (I know you can improve the standard issue DB stuff), but I'll check and post if no one has answered before then. Since there is no perk associated with leather armor you'll need some major gear and potion if you're gonna' improve it to or past the armor cap (and you might need the Light Armor perks)...if that's in what your interested. :P

I have great success with two Dremora Lords. I am a shadow mage and use magic and archery and the Dremora Lords are just awesome with melee. Conjuration is your friend.

u can improve the ancient armor...don't use magic myself so can't help with that. if ur using bound bows u don't need to invest in smithing. otherwise i'd take those perks and make a daedric bow. if ur that good with ur bow u don't really need the light armor perks. i'm at level 23 and no light armor perks. u could always just get the lord stone for help with that...hope this helps u out.

u can improve the ancient armor
This.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Ancient Shrouded Armor. If so, you improve it with Leather.

This looks like a really strong fun build dreborn. What kind of armor rating do you have now? I guess it doesn't matter. Instead of having strong armor or magic resistance, your strategy is simply not get hit. Smart. How did you manage to get 100 in speech? I usually have trouble leveling up speech. Any tips?

I took a quick look and your build is fine. However, I wouldn't bother with conjuration or any magic. At Master level difficulty, with smithed glass bow, double enchanted and a potion of marksman, I can 1-hit blooded dragons from sneak. I also use double enchanted, smithed armor for one-handed and archery plus various resistances and nearly nothing can hurt me besides magic and dragon breath. Those can be solved by resistance potions.

Get your Conjuration up to 100 and you can have two summoned atronachs/Dremora at a time. So save a point for that perk.
