What's the deal with Conjuration?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 7:43 am

There is another thread similar to this, but doesn't involve trouble with summoning or anything of that sort...

I currently have trouble finding out HOW to level Conjuration. It's somewhat difficult.

Do you summon familiars to level it? Do you Soul Trap people? Do you do some complicated [censored]?

I want any possible way you can level the skill without too much complication, and I would like the SIMPLEST method first. Any help would be appreciated, as I really like the sound of the perk at level 100 Conjuration.

Well, just hide behind a rock and keep using Soul Trap on a mammoth. On a rock is better.

You can get it from most Court Wizards, such as Secret-Fire in Dragonsreach.

Bound Sword is probably quicker than Soul Trap, but you can also use soul trap on corpses to level it up in complete safety.

Right, and so who is Secret-Fire in Dragonsreach? Where do I find him?

The only mage I know of in Dragonsreach is Farengar.

Secret-Fire is Farengar's last name. I call him that because it's easier to remember and spell.

Now ... if you don't want to be incredibly boring by powerlevelling, you can also increase Conjuration skill by actually playing the game. Note: it requires actual creative effort and interaction with the world.

It's actually very simple. Just summoning something won't help skill you up, because there's nothing at stake. What you need to do is get your summoned creature into fights. Any time your summoned thing actually does something, your skill gets checked. So send your Familiar up against a normal wolf. Like magic, your skill will increase.

Yes, you level it pretty fast by just playing. Only restoration is not leveled so easy, because you just don't need to heal yourself later in the game and wards are useless too.
