I am using mainly archery and I have noticed that sometimes, out of nowhere, my damage will start to really svck. I mean going from one hit sneak kills going to 3+ sneak hits to kill the same enemy type. When it does this, I'll go into the menu and when I highlight the weapon I have equipped it tells me that if I equip this weapon I will deal X amount more damage. The game still says it is equipped but it also says that it is more powerful. The damage listed in the weapon description is always the same and always right. It only shows the difference at the bottom of the screen where it shows your current damage and the difference in damage (in either red or green). If I unequip the weapon and re-equip it everything is back to normal both in the menu and during gameplay.

I'm not sure how clear of a description that is, but has anyone else experienced something like this? It seems like a bug to me. anyone know what triggers it or how to avoid it? Thanks

That is odd check to see if you have a disease.

If not reload the same save file and check it out.

If the problem persist turn off your game and reload, then test it.

If that does not work load an earlier save.

I bet you have a bug affecting draw distance. I had it once and although you pull the bowstring all the way back, the arrow arcs unnaturally after a very short distance. The damage is affected by this as well

I am on PS3 by the way if that matters.

No, no disease, I checked for that, nothing negatively affecting me according to the menu.

And yes, I do have problems with my arrows sometimes. I will fully draw the bow and the arrows just flop out in front of me. That has only happend a couple times and only when I have been standing awkwardly on the side of steep hill or something.

But that doesn't happen at the same time I am having the damage issue.

Like Daryn said, either it is the bug or you are not drawing the bow back all the way. I notice that I do this on the XBOX, when I am trying to get shots off quick. It takes about a second to fully draw the bow back and if you don't the arrow will just flop out right in front of you.

when I noticed the flopping arrows it was consistent whether I drew the bow back for 1 sec or 2 minutes, but that I was able to resolve (for now at least) my major concern is the damage randomly dropping for no apparent reason.
