AlchemyEnchanting Question

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 1:06 am

Ok, so I got a ring that gave me Fortify Alchemy by 5%. As a big alchemist, I saw an opportunity. I made a fority enchanting potion for 7% and then disenchanted it and put it on a ring. The potion made it much stronger so instead of 5% the ring gave me 11%. I put the ring on and then went to make a stronger Enchanting Potion, but even using the same ingrediants, it's still only a 7% increase potion. I feel like this should be able to get me a 100% Alchemy ring, am I dong something wrong?

You can disenchant potions to get the enchantment from them?

If I read that right...you made a fortify enchanting potion. First I did not know you could disenchant potions so that's a new one I'll have to check out. However, even assuming you can do this, an enchanting ring won't help you in alchemy.

No no, I disenchanted a ring that gave me Fortify Alchemy.

Why wont a ring help me in alchemy?

Make a bunch of equipment that fortifies your alchemy. wear it while you are making potions. it should make a difference.

Ok. Not sure how you did it but neither crafted nor purchased potions appear in my disenchant list.

Original post said he made an enchanting potion then made a ring of enchanting. That does not give perks to alchemy.

How does enchanting buff help when brewing a potion? Does fortify destruction help when I'm bartering or water breathing when I'm black smithing? That's awesome to find out. Please explain.

On the enchanting table, OP made an appeal with fortify alchemy for making potions. Does this make sense?

That's genius! Dunno why I didn't think of that. This should make me able to start a loop. Especially using Grand souls.

I am going to do this as well, at the collage where my room is. I am going to do this for Alchemy and Enchanting table at the collage.

He said
1. he found a ring of fortify alchemy 5%
2. he made a fortify enchanting potion 7%
3. he drank the potion
4. he disenchanted the ring
5. he made a new ring of fortify alchemy 11%
6. he put on the ring and made a potion of fortify enchanting 7%
The question is: why didnt the new potion come out stronger when he used a better fortify alchemy ring?

If you look at the Talk page for Alchemy on UESP they discuss it quite thoroughly.

One of the issues is that you seem to hit a brick wall until you get sufficient skill/perks.

If speed leveling is your goal, try http://keke.itarium.ch/uploads/alchemy/

Use that to make most expensive potions possible to quickly level up. Fortify Restoration potions also boost effect of Alchemy gear so with enough ingredients you can loop into Fortify Restoration 37593857% which will make your Ring crazy powerful.

This will wreck your game though. I did this on my Breton and shortly thereafter erased him.

Until you get fairly far up, the 4% (7% to 11%) isn't noticeable.

If you regular alchemy makes Fortify Enchant 7%, then adding 4% to that will only be a 0.028 increase (if my maths right), which gets rounded out.
