When i tried to play a second time, and was doing the College of Winterhold quest "Revealing the Unseen" - I got all the way to the end of the quest, but never found the focussing crystal. I can't go back and replay the dungeon - that starting point has been overwritten. Is there some way to change a database or some command line entry that will allow me to end that quest so i can move on? I asked for support from Bethesda and they told me to pound sand. So - can anyone help me?

Hey there.... CCNA moved this to the proper forum, so we can go on from there now. First: are you on pc or console? It sounds as if you're on pc.... No, there's no way to change a "database" - this is a machine-resident game, no database to be found. Command line, probably if you are on pc.

The Focusing Crystal isn't in a chest or anything, it's on the "boss" Falmer at the end of the ruin. Then you gotta go a bit further to get the key from a Centurion and then you're good. Just check all the Falmer bodies. If they all just kinda fell dead on top of each other you may've missed it.

Hmmm. Not always though. I got it off a dead falmer earlier in the ruin on various playthroughs.

Huh, it could be some falmer then. When I first went in, I was surprised it wasn't on the dead Synod guy since I swore that's where I got it last time. I only played the quest a week ago so I was like I CAN REMEMBER EVERYTHING but I cannot. ;o;

So - I am playing on a PC. First time i played the game - no problem finding the crystal. I started a new game, and this time, no crystal. I looked in all the bodies - nothing. Not sure what happened. So, basically, I can't advance on this line without somehow terminating the quest so i can move to the next.
