so i've never played any of the elder scrolls games and was fixing on buying oblivion for 13$ from steam, however then i saw that skyrim was on sale for 40$ today and was wondering if i should get oblivion and wait for another skyrim sale or just go ahead and get skyrim and never get oblivion.
thoughts?

Get both? Save up and get both, they're both great games.

Oblivion has a ton of mods out, so that can keep you occupied for a long, long time. Definitely until Skyrim GOTY comes out that goes on sale.
Edit: You should get both, but I prefer to play one at a time.

You should play oblivion first, you may not want to play it after you've played Skytim.

Get both. Then, if you can cope with the old school graphics, download Daggerfall for free. Then get Morrowind. Then download loads of mods for all of them.

They're both great games, You should definitely play both of them at some point. But as for which to play first, I don't think it really matters, it's up to you. They are both equally amazing in my opinion.
