So since the patch, I, like many other people, have been getting every crash possible, limiting to my playing the game to 3 minutes tops. That doesn't even include the mandatory RB crash anytime I try to see if vats is working. Installing to HD did not help. Clearing cache did not help, except for making my DLC disappear. Even playing offlice did not fix the number of crashes.

On about crash number 40 in one day, I finally got my last one while accidentally pressing RB.... Leaving me with a red ring of death.

I thought to myself, maybe it's not the game at all... but the 360 itself! So I went and bought a used 360 at the local gamestop, went home, and looked forward to playing new vegas!
Guess what? New xbox, same problems!

Now I am beginning to wonder if all those crashes caused from new vegas didn't melt down my 360 hardware??

Sure all those Re-boots on your system is not a good thing. Not good on computer and not good on a console. I encountered 6 freezes in a row and decided it's time to give up and wait for a fix. Before my Xbox decided to take a crap on me.

I'm in the same boat. Fallout New Vegas killed my Xbox 360. The constant freezing required constant restarts which killed my system. Now when I boot the console up, I have maybe a 1 in 4 chance of it not freezing at startup or when logging in to Xbox Live. This will give me enough time time try to clear my cache, but that didn't help. This only became an issue after the recent patch. Previously, I had one lockup. After the patch it was once every three minutes or so and growing.

Even if my Xbox starts up, it will crash when I try to start another app, especially Netflix, which has royally ticked off my wife.

Yeah, I didn't mention that either.... I had absolutely no problems before the patch. Logged around 25 hours before the patch without a single crash. I just hope that there is a real fix in the works coming soon... Guess I could always work on my second playthrough of borderlands in the meantime... lol.

Yeah, there's no way Fallout New Vegas is coming anywhere near the new Xbox when it gets here. One of the advantages of having a 3 month old is that it makes Netflix Watch Instantly a 110% Must Have for 3am feedings, so funds were pretty quickly authorized for a new console.

Although the temptation to video the unboxing of a new Xbox and subsequent crashing due to Fallout New Vegas is pretty strong, I'm not sure I want to risk my 300 bucks (and wife's ire) that way.
