Need Help Establishing Marriage

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 3:09 pm

I can't get Eola interested!

I've tried selecting her prid 1BB8E
disable
enable
resetai
resurrect
addtofaction 19809 1
setrelationshiprank player 4
in every combination I could think of.

I put on the Amulet of Mara and talk to her ... nothing. I even tried installing a http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8453 from Nexus and made sure that it's the last mod loaded. No soap.

Maybe it just wasn't meant to be, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance - Z

Thats funny, eola reminds me of Oblivion, where one elf chick asks if necrophelia is legal.

One of her quest related factions (HalloftheDead or Cannibals) may be blocking it?

And... you want to marry a cannibal? You can get help for that you know?

No sure if it matters or not but she may have a unique voice actor, not sure if that stops marriage through console though. Sorry I can't be of much further help, it's been awhile since I did her quest.

Eola's always been an option for marriage, you shouldn't have to console at her to get her agreeable.

You DO, however, have to finish the Daedric Quest "The Taste of Death." After that, provided you don't spare Verulus and slaughter all the cannibals of course, she finds you to pretty fly.

But if you're already married/your spouse died somehow, then yeah, you do have to actually console around that. Hopefully you still got their body handy because you need to raise them from the dead for a bit. So you're gonna do this:

If your spouse is already dead and stuff, open the console and enter Setstage RelationshipMarriage 10
Select your dead spouse's body and enter the ressurect
After raising them, just enter setrelationshiprank player 4 to keep the relationship status from any quests you did to curry their favor.

And you should be good to go. Go out and live a long, fulfilling life with your wonderful psychopathic chick.

Hmm. Is it possible that I have to remove her from one faction before adding her to another? Is there way to pull faction info the same way you can for example getrelationshiprank?

Well, my player character in that playthrough is kind of a twisto anyway, but I won't deny that I personally find Eola to be one of the most compelling personalities in the game.

And thank you for the interest http://www.gamesas.com/user/792580-gallariaichiban/, but I believe you're mistaken. You're the first person I've seen who says that Eola is marriageable "out of the box". I did complete "The Taste of Death" a long time ago, and went along with Eola, Namira, and the cannibals the whole way. I also never married anybody else. Thank you again for the input though. I may fool around with setstage relationshipmarriage and see if I can do anything with it.

I have no idea why I thought Eola was always available for marriage. I'm just kind of blonde like that a lot. And maybe I got my wires crossed between followers and potential spouses. I got the console commands for making someone marriage-ready though, let me copy paste.

prid 0001BB8E (Target Eola)
addfac 19809 2
setrelationshiprank player 4
player.additem 000c891B (Adds Amulet of Mara)

I used this same set of commands, only different RefID of course, to get get Hroki available for marriage and it went off without a hitch. You could give that go if you'd like, otherwise I'll try it on one of my old saves when I get a chance.

Edit'd because adding a 2 to the end of the addfac command has apparently worked for other people.

Hmm! Thanks again. I tried addfac 2, and it accepted the command, but Eola still won't say anything about my Amulet of Mara. :(

It seems like these have worked for other people. There must be something weird on my particular save blocking something.

Thaaaat's curious. Could be all the other things you fiddled with to try and get her to notice. I'd try a kill command then a resurrect command immediately afterwards and then go with the other steps and see if that works. If not, I'll try it myself on my orc character once I'm done fixing this bro's house up. I've never done it for myself but I like poking and prodding at the console.

Also, try dropping/selling the Amulet of Mara you have and conjuring a new one up via console. It apparently can make a difference depending how you use the console to add someone to the marriage faction, so it's worth a shot in this case.

Unsurprisingly, kill/resurrect didn't work. I also tried disabling all mods, just in case - no dice. Finally, I tried going back to an old save from December, before I even used any mods - no good there either.

Thanks for your continued interest and ideas :)

Eola will always block marriage lines with her quest-related dialogue; try speaking to another NPC that shares her voice or any NPC that would share those lines; it may sound weird, but do Revyn Sadri's quest in Windhelm -- either helping him or Viola -- and speak to the one you helped with the Amulet of Mara equipped. That should cause the topic to appear with Eola if you're wearing the amulet, and you've spoken to Maramal about weddings, of course.

Also, "SetRelationshipRank Player 4" is overkill; it only needs to be at one. 1 is friend, 2 is confidant, 3 is ally, and 4 is lover.

Hmm! I kept getting the feeling that she had a lot of dialogue options. I will try that! Thank you PrinceShroob!

And yeah, I thought 4 was extreme, but when nothing else worked, I figured, why not max it. In my mind the characters are already lovers anyway :blush2:

PrinceShroob helped me with my Marcurio dialogue problems, so I would definitely try that Zombra. I was thinking removing the quest related factions might help you, but kudos to PrinceShroob for finding the voice.
